Werewolf Pours a brownish color with a nice foamy head. There is a very weak aroma, some salty peanut notes. The flavor is pronounced, big hazelnut flavors, and a stale malt flavor. The body is a bit watery, but flavors are still there. Overall its a nice beer, nice body, and some good hazelnut flavors.

A: Medium to chestnut brown, very clear, nice amount of tan head.
S: Some toasted malts in there, almost a lager like aroma from somewhere... Heavy on the burnt sugar/caramel aromas, it almost comes off a little cloying. There is almost a hint of soy sauce in this.
T: Caramel and toasted malts, there is something a little odd about it. Perhaps a little smoky, but not in a great way, almost an ashtray thing. Odd.
M: Medium light in body, very high carbonation.
O: Overall an odd little beer, a little off. I could see it appealing to a broader audience, but this one just isn't for me.

12oz bottle at 41 F poured into a pilsner glass. Bottle code is 31 05 A L 126 59 14.
Pour is fairly nice looking. Rich amber copper, with a decent head, dissipates to a film fairly quickly. Almost no carbonation. Smell is lagery, yeasty, mild, slightly skunky.
Taste is mildly sweet and tea-like -- reminds me of normal Newcastle, but more caramelly. Watery.
Mouthfeel is watery. Overall, it's an OK beer.

Appearance - Pours a beautifully deep reddish copper with a white, frothy 2-finger head. Great retention. Resulting lace is thick and sticky as all hell. Fantastic looking beer.
Smell - Aroma is a nice deep caramel, a touch roasty, and some european dry hops, not uncommon in Newcastle beers.
Taste - Follows the nose. Light caramel and lightly roasted malts, hints at toffee, and a touch of metallic twang. Slightly earthy and nutty. Finishes with a nice, smooth and caramel sendoff.
Mouthfeel - Light to medium bodied. Slightly undercarbonated. It's smooth, in the very least. Finishes fairly dry.
Overall - On second go around, this is a decent release, especially from Newcastle. Drinks close to a brown, and is significantly better than the more popular Newcastle offering.
