Really enjoyed this brew. Had it at Tilted Kilt as their seasonal beer for the month of October.

A: It is red, no doubt an amber. You can still see through it, though. Decent head.

S: Smells of toasted barley.

T: Pleasant. Has an aftertaste almost identical to that of those Halloween blood capsules, which really reminds me of the season. Hints of vanilla and perhaps even cherry.

M: Moderately carbonated, somewhat dark, and bittersweet.

O: This is definitely a seasonal beer. When you drink it, you know what time of year it is and I really like that about this brew. Not sure if I'd enjoy it nearly as much at any other time of year, but that's why it's a seasonal!

Pours a clear mahogany body with three fingers of rich and frumpy foam with excellent lacing properties. Aromas are toasty but subdued and simplistic. Flavors are sweet up front before big toasty and earthy notes dominate the middle. A tea and toffee like bitterness linger long on the finish. Very tasty.

A new fall offering from Newcastle that I hadnt heard of or saw before.Poured a brilliant deep ruby infused brown with a thick creamy off white head atop, the head settles slowly leaving multiple rings of lace as it did.Big fruity esters along with caramel biscuit malt, the rye doesnt seem to come thru but the aromas are deeply malty and somewhat complex.Full on English malt flavors with fruit and biscuit flavors, the rye adds a little acidic zing in the finish.I admit Iam surprised at how good this beer was,the malt complexity really stands out.

The fall seasonals are coming out way to early in my opinion.

Pours a reddish brown (close, but not quite the color of coagulated blood) with two healthy fingers of head that retained for quite some time. There is definitely a wine nose to this offering. The wine in the nose comes through in the taste as well and the finish is dry. I am not sure if this is a red ale. In fact, I am not sure how this should be classified, but it is interesting nonetheless.

Had this at a Halloween party and it paired well with the superbly marinated grilled steak and chicken.
