Purchased at daughter's in Laurel, MS.

Pours a clear amber (hardly blood red) with an abundant tan head that stays prominently throughout. The appearance on this beer is superb.
Aroma: Burnt malts, some toffee and a little sweet caramel.
Taste is more burnt malts, smokey and some dark cherries.
Dry and mildly bitter.
Interesting beer that has a bit going on, should go great with some Bar-B-Q ribs. Worth a shot.

A- Dark Ruby Red. 2 1/2 finger creamy looking head that did dissipate some. Head was tan/khaki colored, very rocky, with tight white bubbles (some large as well).

S- Dark roasted/toasted malts. Sweet. Grainy. No hops. A little bit earthy. Smells like a darker Newcastle Brown, but sweeter.

T- Very sweet. Dark roasted/toasted notes from the malts come out. As the bottle suggests, there is a sweet berry fruit taste here. But that is light! Again, no hop presence. There is an overall grainy taste here. It's that wet cardboard grainy taste you get from American Macro Lagers actually. But overall this is very sweet, malty, and grainy.

M- Medium body. This is way to carbonated. It's overly crisp! The head does have a nice creamy richness to it, but that's it. Super sweet. The sweet taste mixed with the carbination doesn't make this very pleasant to me.

Overall, I don't think I'd ever be tempted to buy this. My brother had gotten some when his band was on tour recently, so that's how I acquired this. But it's way too sweet and overly carbonated to be something I'd be seeking out again. But in general, I'd rather have this than a Bud Light for sure.

Poured from a bottle into an american shaker pint glass.

Appearance: Pours a clear orange tinted amber with a 3 finger tan colored head.

Smell: This is the part about the beer that really throws me for a loop. While there are moderate amounts of toasty malts, there is a deeply and overwhelming fruity aroma full of black cherry, plum, dates and a lot of medicinal scents. It almost reminds me of cherry cough syrup. Not a good way to start.

Taste: I'm really glad the taste of this beer didn't follow the nose. There's a prominent grassiness from the hops, but that is soon followed by a caramel toffee sweetness that balances it out nicely. Once you swallow is when those darker flavors start to show themselves in the taste, and the beer definitely finishes well with a pleasantly deep fruity aftertaste.

Mouthfeel: Fizzy.

Overall: In it's entirety it would be hard to call this a bad beer. The flavors a deep and complex, but it's also very sessionable and easy to drink. The flavors present aren't really my thing, but I know some people who might be into a brew like this. Probably for someone who is just getting into craft beer.
