Poured into a pint glass.

A: Clear amber with two-finger, white, creamy head that lasted a couple of minutes. Nice lacing.

S: Citrus and pine hops. Mild.

T: Light sweetness and light bitterness. Bready. Sort of a metallic taste.

M: Light to medium bodied with soft carbonation.

O: Nothing special about this ale. It looks good, but that's about it.

a - Clear copper body, white head drops quickly leaving behind a little bit of lacing.

s - Caramel dominates, toasty, hard to detect anything other than a bit of grassy hops.

t - Caramel up front, crisp, well balanced, hop bitterness is detectable but doesn't add much to the flavor profile. Slight bit of vegetable to it throughout.

m - light mouthfeel complimented by crisp taste

o - Nice balanced beer, let it get a bit warmer for it to open up.

A- Poured into a pint glass with a copper-amber body. Forming on-top is a bubbly off-white head with lackluster retention. Small ring remains leaving a few fine lace streaks.

S- A bit malty with toasty, nutty and caramel hints. Some herbal, floral and earthy hops in the background.

T- Flavor feels stripped down. There are some good hints but not enough to be that satisfying. It feels like a light beer with slight hints of herbal/floral hops, citrus and cracker caramel malt. Yeast bread and fruit backbone.

MF- Light body with a silky texture. Carbonation is high and stings the palate just a bit. Slightly bitter finish.

Like I mentioned in the taste profile, it just feels like a beer that is missing a major flavor. There are decent hints here and there but it is somewhere between macro and decent pale ale. Does improve with warmth somewhat but there is still some fruity/raisin flavor that is a astringent.

Pours clear copper with a decent head, but weak retention. A little skim showing towards the end. No lace. Brown bottle - for Newcastle?

Some toasted malt, a little caramel, some bitter herbal notes.

Decent toasted malt with moderate hop bitterness. Some slight sweetness, but balanced out with some good toasted grain notes and light bitterness in the finish. I was surprised how easy drinking this was.

Medium body, good carbonation.

One of Newcastle's better offerings. Good balance, not over sweet. I had this with lunch and it was great with food. Worth a shot.

Into a pint glass:

A: crystal clear copper yet transparent colored body and has a light amount of carbonation seen rising. The small white head only lasts about a minute and then dies. It leaves spotty yet foamy rings as the beer goes down.

S: pale malts with some fruitiness. However, I did detect some soap as well.

T: very light bitterness with the pale malts and the fruits coming back, however there really isn't much exciting about this beer.

M: light, and a bit watery with not a whole lot of carbonation. This is a pretty drinkable beer.

O: this is nothing special. I was hoping for a really great Spring brew, but am slightly disappointed. I'd only have this on tap depending upon what else was served.

look: 4.5 | smell: 3.5 | taste: 3.5 | feel: 4 | overall: 3.5

Appearance - Pours a clear, deep copper with an off-white 2 finger head, good retention, and resulting in a nice lace.

Smell - Faint, sweet malt aromas; nut and bread.

Taste - Light, sweet malt flavors: bread and caramel. Hops are hidden, but their presence provide good balance.

Mouthfeel - Light to medium body. Carbonation makes for a crisp, semi-dry finish.

Overall - A good offering from Newcastle. The flavors are somewhat tame, but there's a nice all-around balance. Certainly drinkable, and not a bad option for session drinking.

An okay ale. Seems mass produced and lacking passion. Gives some slight promising character, but doesn't deliver a real firm punch. Could have been a whole lot more, but it's clear these guys are catering to the mass market. Decent, but not anything spectacular.

A: The beer is crystal clear copper in color and has a moderate amount of carbonation. It poured with a finger high frothy white head that has good retention properties and left a thin head covering the surface and lots of lacing down the sides of the glass..
S: There are aromas of pale malts in the nose along with some notes of fruity yeast and hints of tea leaves.
T: Similar to the smell, the taste has flavors of pale malts and fruity yeast along with notes of biscuits and crackers. Some notes of tea leaves are noticeable in the finish. There is a very slight amount of bitterness.
M: It feels light-bodied and a bit watery on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: There’s nothing overly special about the taste but this beer goes down like a breeze and is quite quaffable.

A: Copper hue with a thin head; bubbly; good lacing

S: Grainy and bready: really toasty, slightly burnt; some herbal and grassy notes from the hops

T: Much more bitterness up front than I expected from the aromas; herbal, grassy hops but the sweet bready malt balances this out rather nicely

F: A touch over-carbonated and thin though a good oily residue gives this beer enough mouth feel

O: An easy drinking English pale ale; nothing incredibly crazy here--just a drinkable, simple brew but I like it nonetheless
