Nice golden coloured brew with a 2 finger head of foam and it does well with the lacing.

It has a good hoppy nose, I'd say of pine, but not much else going on.

The taste sure has some piney hop bitterness going on with what I would guess is the base beer of Newcastle Brown. Some mild sweet notes from the latter; this works okay and it is certainly drinkable but it isn't a Pale that I'd reach for as my first choice, or second, or third...

I'm not trying to knock this beer but there are many more that I'd turn to first, even in my market.

Nice to see a new offering from the boys at Newcastle. Poured from 12oz. bottle into a pint glass.
Clear, copper/amber in color, with a shortish, off-white head of foam.
Aroma-fruity, mineral note
Taste-Mineral fruitiness, sedate English hops, nice little hop bite in the finish. Pleasant and easygoing, nicely balanced, sessionable ale.

Poured from a 12oz bottle into a Dogfish Head Signature Glass.

Color: Clear amber with a khaki head.

Smell: Bready malts up front followed by cinnamon and brown sugar.

Taste: I get the bready malts and cinnamon up front follwed by the brown sugar.

Mouthfeel: Good carbonation, Smooth with a medium dryness on the palate.

Overall: Light bodied with an OK blance. Not a bad brew by any means. Just not going to go buy a six pack of it. Worth a try for sure. Cheers.

Pours a clean orange-ish color with an off white head. In the aroma, a mellow gingerbread maltiness. In the taste, not much but a standard gingerbread like maltiness. A small bite and a medium to lighter bodied mouthfeel, with a small dry gingerbread like maltiness. Kind of a standard English ale, not bad, but nothing exciting.

Pours out a sparkling amber color with a large white foaming head. Head retention is good with some lacing sticking around the glass.

The aroma is clean. The hops and the sweet malt are not overwhelming. There is a bit of spicy bitter hop and a very English style of sweet malt (as one would expect from this style).

The taste of this pale is sweet yet crisp from the bitter hop. Again, nothing is over the top in this pale ale. The malt and hops are there, but are blended beautifully.

Light carbonation with a medium/light body. Finishes clean with a bit of lingering hop bitterness.

I can't really say too much about this English pale ale but go and get some!! Just clean tasty Pale Ale with a wonderful balance. Ya know, sometimes I get bored of over the top beers. If you just want a great Ale to sip on or even pound down. This is it!! The drink-ability is perfect!!

Pours a clear copper with an off white creamy head that fades quickly. A distinctly dried apricot bouquet that acts as a spoiler for what will, ultimately, stimulate the palate. Lovely tangerine and dried apricot that drops abruptly to expose a mild tartness at the beer's finish. Extremely drinkable beer.

$1.79 for a 12oz bottle @ Bevco. Thank heavens they opted out of the clear glass for this. Pours out to a sparkingly clear medium caramel, forming a soapy white head with average retention and lacing. Moderate carbonation. The aroma is kinda adjuncty with the suggestion of corn, caramel, and light brown sugar. No noticeable hop aroma. Mouthfeel is light with a thin body. The taste is also quite light, with just the suggestion of caramel and a very mild hop bitterness. No perceptable off-flavors. Has a touch of yorkshire yeast character but not as strong as Sam Smith or Fullers. Clean finish. Well balanced.

This is what it is...an easy to drink British style pale ale. Considering it's price, if I wanted a real easy drinker on the cheap, I would pick this up again.

Poured from the bottle into an of course, classic nonic pint glass.

A good simple pour provides a simple creamy head, off white, a little foamy. The body is crystal clear with some faint cola bubbles on the side, but a real nice dark amber brown. Very nice looking beer.

Nose is very different from most English Pale Ale's I've had. This is really dirty soil smelling but not pleasant. It smells like dirt. A faint classic English malt tries to creep up behind it. Interesting yes, different yes, do I enjoy it? Really no.

Front palate hits with really not much. I am wondering where the flavor is? Texture though is very solid, and just rolls nicely while consuming. Finish though is a real nice airy biscuity dry cracker like malt. The finish is actually the most impressive thing about it. A little bit of graham sweetness on the end as well.

Overall for the style, yeah this is different good for them for trying something new. But I am not drawn to this at all.

A pure white head a bit more than a finger tall tops a clear, rust-colored brew. Quite creamy and rocky, the retention is good and this solid head leaves good lacing.
The aroma gives a twinge of grains, a bit of an herbal note, some very light earthy hops, and a touch of something a little bit brighter. This isn't strong, but it isn't completely lifeless or dull either, as a bit of complexity pushes it over average.
The taste is the same; lightly herbal and gently earthy with almost a touch of an American-style brightness from hops, there's a bit more hops than I detect in the smell. Grains still pull through all the way. If not for a taint of rubbing alcohol in the finish, this is good.
The body is light, as expected, though the crispness comes from a carbonation that fades off toward the middle. It's pretty dry until that point, at which it becomes even drier and pushes out an astringent element, though it's not extreme.

Pours a clear light copper color with a half inch solid cream head that dissipates quickly into a skin of bubbly foam.

Herbal hops lead the aroma, with a biscuity, almost toasted malt dominating the finish. A hint of citrus accompanies the tea-like herbal hops.

Flavor is decidedly malty, toasted bread and caramel, toffee, with hints of lemon and orange at the finish. A bit of bitterness closes out the flavor profile.

Body is moderate to light, with a fairly high level of carbonation.

A very sessionable beer. Not a whole lot of complexity, but it's an English pale ale.
