Appearance: Crystal-clear medium golden n color, with a moderate, dense white head, which fades slowly. Thin, fine-beaded lacing coats the glass walls.
Aroma: A strong punch of earthy hops dominate the aroma, the hops are nearly reminiscent of a very strong, old cheese. There are grassy hops as well. Lightly toasted malts and honey aromas offer a pleasing counterpoint.
Taste: Opens with earthy hops and crisp, lightly toasted pale malt. The hops are a bit harsh, and have an almost "catty" aspect. As the taste progresses, the malt struggles to assert itself against the hops, ultimately falling short. Finishes with a lingering, earthy bitterness.
Mouth feel: A bit thin, with slightly zesty carbonation.
Drinkability/notes: For me, the hops were off-putting. If a somewhat milder hop were utilized, this could be a very drinkable session beer.
Presentation: Packaged in a short twelve ounce brown glass bottle with a pry-off crown, served in a New Belgium Brewing chalice.
Serving type: bottle
