Wife's out at the bar with friends, I'm home drinking crafts. I guess I really am a homebody enjoying the finer things in life instead of getting sloppy and listening to loud and terrible music with people falling over each other.

I digress..

Appearance (3.75) : A solid center pour yields a fluffy 2 finger eggshell white head. The body is pale golden color naturally, and very clear. Lacing is left behind in rings as it recedes slowly.

Aroma (3.75) : Yeast, spiced black jelly bean, candy jelly bean, malt, some fresh grass, pancake batter. It does smell good despite the oddities listed here. It's very fresh and appealing. Bouquet is weak to medium strength.

Taste (3.25) : Bread and butter come out almost immediately... which is really good but there's prominent hops and they destroy that luscious flavor. See, I like blondes that taste like liquid bread. That goes for beers, too. So when it's almost there for me and something gets in the way, it's a bit frustrating. I can't say much else other than the yeast being bready, and the diacetyl being buttery. The hops come in and put moderate bitterness on all of that. I don't mind a balance, but I wish it had a more yeast-malt only flavor. Get thee behind me, hops!

This one actually tastes better out of the bottle.

Mouthfeel (3.25) : Light bodied, carbonated, lightly creamy. Ends hoppy and semi-dry.

Overall (3.42) : Glad I didn't purchase a six pack of this. It's not a bad beer, but at $2 a shot, well...whatever. Their flagship beer is better. On to the next one! Getting crunked tonight!

A nice golden colored ale with a medium white head. Aroma is fruity, grass notes and grains. Taste is sweet toasted grains, grass with a bitter ending. Palate is medium body, crisp with good carbonation. Finishes with a toasted grain flavor, grass notes, fruity with a moderate hops bitterness bite and a bit of a nutty aftertaste as well. Overall nothing really stand out but still an ok summer brew.

This pours a very clear and bright golden color with a thick long lived head that settles slowly leaving a thin head down the sides of the glass.

The nose is classic Newcastle spiced hops with a a nice bready and malty undertone.

The taste is rather dry and crisp, this subdues the strong malt with a nice hop bitter that almost reminds me of a stronger Old Speckled Hen. The taste has notes of breadiness that balances well with the dryness.

The moutfeel is just right.

Overall this is extremely drinkable and enjoyable, another one I highly recommend.
