750 ml bottle, brewed 2/16 per the label. "Oak Fermented Wheat Saison W/ Brett". My second beer from Transient Artisan Ales, and what better one to have than volume 2.
Poured into a Duvel tulip snifter.
A - Like Volume 1, it pours big billowy fluffy white head -three to four fingers, big and bubbly, with a murky golden citrus orange body, with hues of brown thrown in there. Lots of chunky yeast sediment begins to emerge as the bottle drinks on.
S - Aroma brings in lots of crisp brett - earthy & yeasty, with hints of cherry cola, citrus, leather, white wine, pineapple.
T - Taste brings in more of the same: lots of crisp, dry brett flavor - subtle notes of oak wood, with a bit of cherry cola / carbonation, leather / white wine / white grape, & notes of sweet citrus fruits - pineapple, orange, peach. Finishes very dry & bretty. Bottle gets much crisper & juicier as it drinks on.
M - Feel is extremely smooth, juicy, & crisp. Easy-drinking stuff, medium-bodied, with high semi-bloating carbonation.
Overall, another nice oak-fermented brett saison from Transient. No overt differences between this bottle and volume 1 were noted, so perhaps a true side-by-side tasting is in order to truly determine the differences.
Transient Artisan Ales An Ever Expanding Universe (Batch 1 Volume 2) -----4/5.
