Vibe: As soon as I walked into this place, I felt like I had been transplanted from the NYC metro area to some place in the Midwest as they had country music playing and a mechanical bull in a ring in the center of the main room, which felt like you were in a barn. I stopped by around 2 pm on a Friday afternoon and there were just a handful of customers in here.

Quality: Beers were served in various types of glassware at the proper temperature.

Service: Our server was extremely friendly and did a thorough job at explaining the menu and the beer selection.

Selection: There were about a half dozen beers available on-tap. They also had growler fills and some of the beers available on-tap.

Food: I ordered the 70/30 Bacon Burger, which was made with 2 parts ground beef and 1 part ground applewood smoked bacon and was really impressed with how well it tasted.

Our beers were served in plastic cups after 10p. We had pint glasses prior. Disappointing for a brewpub

I drove by this place while cruising along I-84 and saw their big "BREWPUB" sign on the roof. Intriguing...

Later on, the wife and I stopped there for dinner and a beer on a Sunday night before crashing at a roadside hotel nearby.

Bull & Barrel is a country-themed bar in the middle of Westchester. Not sure why. Big, open space and a mechanical bull in the middle of the joint. You would expect to find this in Dallas or Wyoming, not in Brewster, NY...

We sat at the bar looking at the taps, thirteen of them overall. For a new brewpub in this area of the country, not a bad amount! I went for the four-beer tasting and enjoyed their Single Barrel (Old Ale aged 2 months in bourbon), Oatmeal Stout, Imperial Old Ale and Triple Whip IPA. I enjoyed all of them and was surprised at the quality.

The food is all about meat, burgers and bacon. They have a section of the menu with all-bacon items, including delicious chocolate-covered bacon. I had some smoked wings that were not very smoky and we shared a spinach-and-artichoke grilled-cheese sandwich (clever and yummy!).

I dig their football-night specials, including four-dollar pints and six-dollar wings. We had a good time here and I'd like to revisit soon enough... this brewpub is doing something right :-)

The Bull and Barrel had to make the choice between being a respectable brewpub or being a popular "scene". I can't blame them for chasing the easier dollar, but they chose the latter. As it stands now, this place will send any beer aficionado running full speed to Deciccos.

I was really excited to see a brewery open in Brewster - Its not that far and I find myself driving past often...
I visited on a Saturday night and the place was really crowded - people were parking in the woods and all over the place. Inside, it was jammed packed. The first thing you see is the country theme - a mechanical bull, saddles, and various cowboy décor - plus camo hats on dudes and girls dressed up (weird how that happens)...tons of bouncers with earpieces in (and they were rude) I was not expecting this at all...I was expecting a brew pub - chill spot with a focus on the beer - not a two step dance floor, mechanical bull, and dudes....
Their tap list was good - they had like 8 or 9 of their own brews and 3 guest brews. I had one issue with the guest brews - they had Oberon on tap - great - but it said it was from Chicago...I mean seriously? ok maybe nitpicky but I think that shows laziness and no passion...

They seemed to have a beer representing every style, session amber, Pale Ale, IPA, Irish stout, American wheat, NY Farmhouse, Belgian dubbel, and a blueberry honey (there were others I cant remember). I tried the stout, IPA, Farmhouse, and American wheat - all decent but the Farmhouse was the best. Nice selection, but no real reasoning to it? are they specializing in a style or just making whatever they feel like? Regardless, their beer seemed to not be the reason people were there...as more than half were drinking macro bottles or something from their cocktail menu. Nice bartenders though - responsive and cheerful.

They have food but I didn't get any...not even sure what the menu looks like - because they don't even have a website!
Overall, this is not your typical brewery...
They do a poor job of even advertising their own beer - and it seems to be a second thought. Take some pride in your craft and showcase it! I would never serve macro anything at my brewery should I ever have one...but I do respect serving other craft beer...but to me this place seems like a business venture rather than someone who loves craft beer. Whats hot? Country and Craft beer - so lets combine the two and make some cash...
I predict that they will either drop the beer making, or the bull riding sometime in the future - I have a feeling it will be the beer making...but regardless its nice to see craft beer in a different market.

Id like to give it another try on a quiet afternoon when I don't have to compete with a bull and two stepping to hear myself think...

Spacious western-themed converted restuarant with electronic bull. Large open bar room with long L- shaped bar opposite entry that seats about 25 with tables about the room. A dozen beers on tap, the three I had were ok. Friendly service. Food was ok.
