Trying the singin river porter at the pie factory in Florance, AL. The beer poured a nearly opaque rich amber ish brown with tan head that is not leaving much of a lace. The scent is faint coffee and peat. The taste has great flavor...coffee, peat and hints of chocolate. The m outhfeel is medium in body with good carbonation. Overall this is a good porter and certainly worth a try.

Poured from a 12 OZ can into a pint glass. The appearance is a black colored brew with a tan head. The aroma is malt and coffee. The taste is very good, coffee and chocolate malt.

Poured from 12 oz can dated 08/06/2015.

A: Very dark brownish black with one finger light tan head that settled quickly to a thin ring around the edge.

S: Aroma is fairly light with roasted malts, chocolate, and vanilla.

T: Rich dark chocolate mixed with vanilla and roasted biscuit malts.

M: Full bodied with a creamy texture.

O: Full flavored, solid porter. I wish the aroma was a little more pronounced, but otherwise nicely done.

Had this beer on tap at a local pub. The beer was as dark as a stout but as smooth as a porter. Not much head, but mellow and easy to drink.

I am sooooo glad to have initiated The CANQuest (tm) many years ago! It has proven to bean integral part of my legacy and its fame leads people to hook me up with new CANs for inclusion. Uncle JedI & Purple Hat Joan recently sent me this one. Yay!

I did a Crack! and inverted Glug to produce two fingers of dense, deep-tan/light-brown head with great retention that left terrific lacing in its wake. Color was Black/Opaque (SRM = 44) with cola highlights when held up to bright light. Nose had a smoky chocolatiness. Mouthfeel was full and creamy. The taste was laden with notes of dark chocolate, slight smoke and some charcoal. Mmm. I CANnot tell you what has overcome me the last couple of days. I am a self-avowed hophead and yet I have really been digging on Stouts and Porters. The finish was semi-dry with a lingering smokiness in the back of my throat. This was a really well-made Porter and an unexpected surprise. Many thanks!

Poured from a (beautiful) 12 ounce can into a Willie Becker glass.

A: Two fingers of head. Dark, brooding, and opaque.
S: Smells like chocolate milk and bitter cacao dust.
T/M: Incredibly and lusciously smooth. Creamy and delectable. Flavors are heavily chocolatey. A hint of roast, but mostly a lactic sweetness.
O: I'm not the biggest on porters, but this is damn swell. Nearly impeccable for the style. Highly recommended!

Appearance -The porter poured brown with a mocha shaded head.

Smell - The malts are slightly sweet with an almost cola-like acent.

Taste - At the front, I note chocolate and coffee flavored malts that go slightly sour like an English porter. There is a slight rye bread quality and perhaps a little fudge. The finish notes elements of burnt sugar.

Mouthfeel - The lower carbonation allows the taste to linger. It is reasonably smooth.

Overall - I feel like this is more of an English porter which is why I enjoyed it.
