O.C.P. came to life in our homebrew days when Ali Kamp challenged Joel to make a beer that tasted just like her oatmeal and cream cookies. In his mad scientist's lair (aka the garage), Joel blended oats, marshmallow stuff, and other top secret ingredients to create the mystifyingly delicious beer known as O.C.P. Never too sweet and never too heavy, O.C.P. hits all the right notes and always leaves you wanting another "bite." With minor tweaks over the years, O.C.P. has grown from a homebrew to one of the most popular "cookie beers" in Michigan, but one thing never changed: it tastes just like an oatmeal cream-filled cookie!

It's pretty good. I didn't realize it was a brown ale when I bought it and was thinking it would be a bit heavier feeling for some reason. It's almost like a spiced lager. In my opinion, it could use a bit more cream taste to offset the ginger and oatmeal notes. Not bad, but not what I was expecting.

I just didn’t get the oatmeal crème cookie flavor. Hazy appearance, maybe a slightly-diluted cola color. Nice foam but quickly dissipated. I would say the smell was more of a spice cookie than the taste. The taste was spicy, but I had the sense of a lager rather than an ale. I wouldn’t describe it as sweet.
I grabbed this off my beer store thinking it was an oatmeal stout. Well one taste had me reading the label more closely. My mistake, but I don’t hate it. A nice change.

12 oz can from Michigan served in a Belgian snifter.

This poured with a very dark, clear, orange-brown body topped with a decent off-white head. As the aroma suggests, the flavor carries too much spicing (or not enough dark malts). As expected, it's sweet but this still seems a little too sweet.

Mouthfeel. Oatey smoothness with medium-light carbonation but it seems a bit too thin.

Day 9 of the advent calendar 2021

My trepidation, from the first sight of the can, is warranted. This tastes exactly like an oatmeal cookie....that has been dunked in Coors.

The color is light brown and clear, Oatmeal and a slight raisin aroma, as well a vanilla.
The taste is no surprise. I detect coconut now, and a lot of malty sweetness.

But WHY? WHY????!!!

If I want a cookie, I'll eat a cookie. I don't want to drink one. This is not beer; it is a novelty-flavored alcoholic beverage.

I dig the classy looking can art, great use of color. The pour is mahogany brown colored. The taste is sweet marshmallow, oats, cinnamon, & dark berry. The finish & aftertaste is reminiscent of Oatmeal Cream Pie. I agree with the mouth feel being sort of on the thin side. All in all, this was an interesting brown ale that I would like to revisit again. Cheers! B

Had OCP for the first time yesterday. I was pleasantly surprised. The taste was great and the smell was wonderful. My husband even tried it and liked it. He’s a diehard Bud Lite fan. We will definitely have it again.

Dark copper colored with a fingernail of beige around a third of the rim. The aroma is of caramel, vanilla, and cinnamon. I taste cinnamon, vanilla, and caramel. The mouth is fairly light and approachable.
