A uniquely complex and full-flavored amber ale. Our French oak aging process combined with malted and flaked rye delivers a well-rounded body, laced with undertones of toasted bread, spice, and subtle vanilla.

Gorgeous rich, copper color with a smidge of haze and creamy light tan head that laces the glass nicely. Absolutely beautiful amber ale. The nose is caramel and bread.

The taste has the caramel and bread flavors, but there’s an almost smoky thing going on that I’m wondering if it’s the rye. It’s good, I just wish there was more of it, because that would provide a little more “ooomph” to this flavorful amber.

The mouthfeel is medium and a bit creamy. I’d love to drink this beer really fresh sitting around a campfire on a chilly October evening, because I think it would be PERFECT in that setting.

Just like another review, tired of ipa day after day. Malt and wintergreen on the nose. Great mouth feel. And just a really nice beer

Amber brown filtered with 3 fingers of frothy beige head.

Smells of toasted malt with thing of wintergreen.

Tastes of caramel, toffee, a hint of tartness and cocoa.

Medium body with moderate carbonation.

Drinking in Savannah, June 30th, 2020.

Getting tired of IPAs, so bought this. Poured from a can to a shaker glass. Color is a dark amber, and the head was good. Smells a little sweet to me, but everything smells sweet to me. Definitely malty, but the Rye and barrel aging help a lot. Not a poor choice for a brown ale, I would recommend this as an option, when you can't make up your mind.

Medium brown body, a bit hazy; nice thick head, creamy and sticky. Heavy sweet aroma, not cloying; malty and a bit nutty. Taste also follows the aroma; buttery and a note of brown sugar; decent bitterness. Heavy body yet a tad watery; dull warmth.

This beer comes across as an okay amber. It really doesn't do much as far as exhibiting rye notes (e.g., grain spiciness). It looks and smells great but the other areas descend quickly into the mundane range of things. Not bad, not memorable.

Appearance: Clear amber. Fluffy off-white head with good retention
Aroma: Toasty, bready and woody plus mild citrus note.
Flavor & aftertaste: Malty, sweet, Spicy and woody. Mild bitterness.
Palate: Low carbonation. Semi-dry. Long finish, but bitterness is not offensive.

Made from Pilsner, Rye, Munich, CaraMunich II, Carafa Special III, and rice hulls; this beer has mounds of malt complexity. Rye malt provides a nice rounding out to the body and spiciness. Not too sweet. You can detect the oak wood aging in both the aroma and the taste. Hops are Chinook, Styrian Golding, and Crystal; which provide a mild citrus note as well as a mild bitterness. This is a nice spin on an amber ale. It has become a favorite everyday beer for me.
