473ml can, more tall-boy goodness supplementing this brewery's already heady presence in Alberta?

This beer pours a slightly hazy, pale golden yellow colour, with a teeming tower of puffy, craggy , and thinly chunky bone-white head, which leaves a stellar array of hoar frost lace around the glass as it duly recedes. Purrrdy!

It smells of semi-sweet, grainy pale malt, a touch of corny astringency, yeasty white wine lees, stale apples and pears, subtle nail polish remover, and pretty much little else beyond a boring earthy/dead leafiness in terms of hops. The taste is bready, grainy pale malt, corn grits, a sort of funky yeastiness, overripe light orchard fruit, a mild medicinal edginess, and more banal, indistinct hops that are only notable for their near total lack of temporal being.

The carbonation is fairly underwhelming in both its support duties and general perkiness, the body medium-light in weight, and rather clammy in its wan attempt at smoothness. It finishes off-dry, the mutt-ish malt, tainted fruit, and wayward yeast sending us off with a certain unavoidable distaste.

Erp - what the fuck went wrong here, guys? I'm not exactly expecting the moon from your low, low priced offerings, but c'mon, your other stuff doesn't suck anywhere as bad as this does. 'Boldly Hopped Euro-Style Pilsner?' Only one of those words rings true here, and 'style' by itself makes little sense. I guess it's much harder to hide cut corners in lagers, eh?
