1+ year old bottle, aged surprisingly well.
Pours orangey gold, slightly hazy, with a dissipating head.
Aroma of yeast, sweet oranges, and alcohol.
Dominating yeasty flavor, as to be expected for the style, somewhat wheat-beer-like, with lots of sweet orange and honey flavor. Slightly peppery, lingering anise-ish finish. For some reason, I keep thinking "this might be good with Indian food." Alcohol presence is not overpowering at all. Well masked. Medium carbonation.
The first time I tried this, I wasn't so into it, but a year actually did this beer surprisingly well. Very unexpected. I dunno if I'd call it the most authentic-tasting tripel around, but not too shabby if you're in the mood for that kind of that kind of thing (which to be honest, I'm usually not, but I'm trying to be un-biased here).
