12 oz. bottle, "drink before Oct 25 07"
Hop Devil is a nice balance between hoppyness and drinkability. All the floral/pine flavors are there, but the body is light enough that it goes down easily. The appearance is nothing notable - low carbination, but a ring of foam around the perimeter of the glass. The aroma is also somewhat low key, but it's certainly better than average. The taste, however, is where this beer shines. As mentioned before, there is the typical floral/pine flavor, but with the right amount of bitterness. The body is fairly medium, but sticky enough to be called slightly chewy. The nice thing about HopDevil is that it is smooth enough to be refreshing, but complex enough to keep you wanting more. A well balanced beer.
Overall, HopDevil is an excellent choice at a bargain price (at least where I got it). It's hoppy enough to frighten the weaker beers away, but light enough to be more refreshing than the Double IPAs.

Poured bottle into glass. 6.7% abv.
Appearance- A brilliant and clear dark red amber with a massive foamy head on it.
Smell- Citrus; orange and grapefruit. Not much else....did I mention citrus? lol
Taste- A dual blast of malt and hops. The initial malt blast is somewhat of a toasty bread character. The hops remain through the whole flavor profile until a spicy hot finish. Notes of grapefruit along with hints of sweet caramel too. Wickedly complex.
Mouthfeel- Heavy body of which is thick and creamy.
Overall- A solid example of a great IPA. This was the first craft beer I tried years ago so maybe it has a sentimental impression on me, but nevertheless, it is damn good if you dont mind a complex bitter blast. The hops linger as much as any other IPA. A must try if you're a hophead.
