Poured from a bottle into a nonic pint.
A - Nice clear dark copper color with a wispy one-finger white head. Patchy lacing.
S - Healthy scent of fresh earthy hops, a tiny bit of grass, and almost toffee like malt. Great combination.
T - Hop forward; with the hops flavorful without being overly alpha-acidic or harsh. Hints of pine, lime, and tangerine, but overall more earthy than citric or sprucey. Guessing they used more than the "C" hops here. Really nice caramel malt underbody. Slight mineral note in finish, but stops short of being "metallic" (more like salt). Nicely balanced. Tasty.
M - Fuller side of medium bodied, with medium carbonation. Nice fit for the style.
O - A quintessential East Coast IPA. I immediately wished I had another on hand. Well put together on all levels.
