Much thanks to Raider for this one.
Almost clear dark amber ale with slight coppery and brown tinge. A thin off white head formed on the pour which faded into scant lacings. Finely carbonated.
Grapefruit (citrus and pine) predominates overtop of floral, bready, and caramel scents.
Sweet floral and bready flavours with caramel are almost immediately smothered in a powerful grapefruit flavour from the hops. The taste ends in an almost tea like or grapefruit peal like astringency.
This is a wonderfully balanced and bold example of the american IPA style. It has a substantial malt body which is wonderfully offset by the powerful yet not too bitter hoppiness. The carbonation aids in delivering this wonderful flavour contrast and combination.
This is a very drinkable ale, and due to its balance and bold flavour the alcohol content sneaks by unnoticed. This is not a beer for those faint of hops and probably isnt a great IPA to introduce a hop novice to. If you like hops, however, this is a great beer, and it goes down very easy. Ill be drinking this one again.

Poured bottle into glass. 6.7% abv.
Appearance- A brilliant and clear dark red amber with a massive foamy head on it.
Smell- Citrus; orange and grapefruit. Not much else....did I mention citrus? lol
Taste- A dual blast of malt and hops. The initial malt blast is somewhat of a toasty bread character. The hops remain through the whole flavor profile until a spicy hot finish. Notes of grapefruit along with hints of sweet caramel too. Wickedly complex.
Mouthfeel- Heavy body of which is thick and creamy.
Overall- A solid example of a great IPA. This was the first craft beer I tried years ago so maybe it has a sentimental impression on me, but nevertheless, it is damn good if you dont mind a complex bitter blast. The hops linger as much as any other IPA. A must try if you're a hophead.
