On draft at Victory into .5L

Pours with a healthy, fluffy white head over a surprisingly clear, golden body

Aromas are faint. Maybe just too cold? Cardboard, yeast, salty ocean, white pepper, and just a touch of lemon.

Flavors are more in line with a standard APWA, but not a true hefeweizen. Light lemony citrus, green banana peel, some whole grain bread, and peppery finish. Plenty of flavor.

Mouthfeel was a bit off. For a 6% hefeweizen I'd expect creamy smooth, but I'm getting highly carbonated with a dry finish.

This is an enjoyable, easy drinking beer. Unfortunately just doesn't quite fit the style.

Poured a soft wheat orange tilting toward gold, with little head and lace. It smelled of some banana and little clove, and they had a sour and lactic turn to them. The quaff of this beer was very shy to come forward. Tasted of a decent wheat and clove, a bit punchy but not endearing. Noticed a very creamy flavor – thick, lactically sour, and subtly sweet like a plain yogurt flavor. Interesting, but not terribly tasty. Had a decent mouthfeel, though missing the firmness of other weizens, i.e. this one was more watery. Good but not memorable beyond the heavy lactic tastes.

22oz bottle, but my 3yo son knocked over my glass spilling 12-14oz. Oh well.
L - persistent bubbly white head, highly carbonated hazed golden ale
S - fresh aroma with fruit, lemon zest, spicy yeast, biscuit, grass, wheat
T - lemongrass, biscuit, clovey yeast, faint bubble gum, pear, apple, wheat; very different but intriguing with every sip. Definitely a cross between a traditional German Hefeweizen and a Belgian ale
F - lighter body, but higher carbonation makes it feel fuller, finishes semi-dry and fairly clean
O - good, unique, and refreshing, but I don't think I'd buy it again. It was fun to try, but I wish I hadn't left my glass in an inopportune spot to get spilled.

From a growler thanks to wyllder. Poured a light yellow with a small head. Smell had a strong wheat presenece. Taste was sweet on the front with a nice hop finish. Very smooth on the tongue. Mouthfeel was medium with a dry finish. Very easy on the palate...very drinkable.

This came from a growler I bought at Victory Brewery and Restaurant in Downingtown, PA. I poured it into a pint glass.
Appearance: The body is a cloudy dark gold. The head is three fingers tall, white, great retention with lots of thin lacing.
Smell: The aromas are dominated by bananas, but also have orange and earthy notes.
Taste: The taste is overwhelmed by bananas and doesn't have much else dimension wise.
Mouthfeel: This beer had a crisp mouthfeel.
Drinkability: This is a drinkable beer.
Don't drink and review.

a: A lot of reviews called this cloudy. Did victory recently start filtering this? My growler pour was a perfectly clear golden color. It poured with a moderate sized head. I'm generally not picky about a beers appearance, but hefes are different and this just didn't look right.

s: All the usual suspects like banana phenols and cloves are here. A bit heavier on the spice than some, but I like it just fine.

t: The cloves at the end were stronger than I prefer, but the big banana flavors up front were very tasty.

m: Big and chewy, spot on for the style.

d: This was good, but its a bit bigger than it needs to be. I felt two glasses more than I thought I should. Also, is this filtered?

Poured from a 22oz bottle into a mug glass.

A: The beer is a light yellow color, with a large off-white head that fades slowly and leaves a spotty lace on the glass.

S: The aroma contains wheat, light caramelized malts, some citrus, some spice and a faint touch of hops.

T: The taste starts out sweet with flavors of citrus, spice and some caramel. Then some breadiness comes in from flavors of wheat and a thin malt character. The hops presence is very mild but complementary and brings a good balance. The after-taste is slightly sweet and slightly bready.

M: Crisp and smooth, light-to-medium body, medium-to-high carbonation, finish is clean.

O: Tasty, goes down very easily, not too filling, mild kick, decent representation of style, it’s a solid beer to drink for a while but there are others in the style that I would pick first.

Sampled from a growler I picked up at the brewpub when I last visited (during Reading WWII Weekend 2012).

Poured some into a weissbier glass... It is rather clear, without the typical cloudiness usually found in the style. Color is a medium yellow-gold, with a steady stream of carbo present. Head was initially full and frothy, but it has ebbed to a thin, fine white layer, with little lace to speak of. Aroma has a little clove and bubblegum, though it is a touch on the mild side. The body is solid, and a touch of prickle alights on the tongue.

A bit of sweetness starts things off, with some dry, crackery notes present. There is some banana lurking, but also some added fruitiness leaning towards rindy lemon peel. Fairly hoppy for the style, with some subtle spiciness in the dry finish. Not bad...

Prosit!

On tap at the source in Downingtown, PA. Cloudy golden color, minimal head. Some slight banana aromas, but they were fairly muted, as were any other aromas. A little spiciness in the taste, but there was a sour aspect that was not quite what I wanted. It's possible my opinion of this beer was impacted by the previous pint of Storm King I had just finished, so I may come back and revise this review at a later date. All I know is I don't think I'll be ordering this one again anytime soon.

12/31....Pours cloudy hazy yellow. Some white foam. Wheaty nose. Mild wheat taste. Chalky, smooth. Small hop bite. Hint of a berry aftertaste.

Growler filled @ Whole Foods Plymouth Meeting

Initial pour into a Weizen glass yields a fairly clear, golden Hefe with a finger of quickly fading head leaving little lacing. A nice spiciness to the nose, along with yeast and some citrus. Taste is in line with the nose, adding in the typical banana / clove / bubblegum flavors the style is known for. Light carbonation and medium bodied, refreshing!

Never even heard of this until I saw it pop up on the growler station - seems it was bottled at one time but is strictly draught these days. A nice Hefe, nothing mind blowing or out of place.
