hazy Golden yellow with a good amount of sediment floating around. A very nice large white head of foamy lace took shape on top and had very nice retention, hanging around for a good five minutes before settling down to a more respectable level and leaving behind copious side lace. Smell was very nice, lots of yeast and wheat were evident as well as a nice little bit of bittering hops. A small touch of some light, tart fruit was hinting around in there as well. The taste was classic, very nice light body with a very smooth texture. Great yeast and grass like flavor on top of a light bread back. Some light fruit notes also jumping around and accentuating it very nicely.

Served on tap in a pint glass

Appearance –Served a hazy golden yellow colored brew with a one finger white head. The head had a pretty good retention and eventually faded to leave some nice lacing on the sides of the glass.

Smell - The aroma was biggest of a biscuit and yeasty smell. Mixed with these aromas were some lighter notes of pepper, citrus, and some herbal hops. Rather standard in many respects for a weiss.

Taste – The taste begins with a biscuit and sweeter citrus fruit flavor. A yeast cake flavor
quickly comes to the tongue. Soon after a banana and pepper flavor follow the yeast, bringing a more classic Weiss flavor to the brew. More toward the end of the taste a lemon citrus surges a bit and when combined with some flavors of a light grapefruit hop bring a yeasty, biscuity citrus flavor to the tongue.

Mouthfeel –The body of the beer was on the slightly thicker side for a weiss with a carbonation level that was very average.

Overall – Not bad. A pretty nice weiss with a bit more flavor and a better feel then most.

Poured on tap into a wheat ale glass at Pizza Paradiso Dupont DC. Victory tap takeover as part of beer week!

A super creamy even white head of classic hefe style, sitting on a simple dull lemon body going to dull orange in places. Overall looks good and a solid simple hefeweizen.

A very closed nose with an exception of some mild clove and dry sense. Not very citrusy or lemon like either.

Taste is toast with a great classic creamy texture. Creamy banana and fruity in the mid palate, finishing with that cream and smoothness. Missing some of the clove spice left from the nose.

Overall the texture makes up for this, and it reminds me of their seasonal Sunrise beer with that same creamy feeling. However I prefer the Sunrise Weiss beer more so to this one.

On tap at Ludwig's Garten in Philly. I have to say, I expected a little more out of this. I found it a bit lacking in flavor, but then again I seem to find that with many Hefe's, which is probably why I prefer Belgian Wits over them. The brew was a very cloudy yellow with a thick white head, but hardly any aroma coming from it at all. Mild citrus, but there wasn't much else.

Mouthfeel is very spritzy and carbonated. Flavors of yeast, citrus, and coriander were detectable, but I could ask for everything to be intensified a bit. A very easy drinker, one that anyone could drink a few of, I just wanted something a bit more complex.

Appearance was a hazy straw, thick head of white foam, lots of carbonation visible in the beer itself.

Smell: lots of wheat, some belgian yeast. Very subtle floral notes.

Taste: wheat and belgian yeast upfront, some pine and floral flavor, and slightly metallic at the end.

Mouthfeel: smooth ay first, but then lots of carbonation and a chalky after feel become noticeable I a not overly pleasant way.

Overall. A solid effort by victory I the style, but im staying to think they should sick to what they do best- hoppy ales and pilsners.

I always have this on tap at Ludwig's Garten here in Philly, this time at the Grey Lodge. Not as tasty, but still good. Pours a hazy yellow you can see through, not cloudy. Not a bad head, but fades quickly, keeps about 1/4 inch. Smooth mouthfeel, not a strong banana clove taste as in Ludwig's. Finishes a little flat. I' ll have to go back and try again, maybe it was the glass.
