Poured bottle into a standard pint glass, color is gold, not too dense, head presents as bright white and 1/2 inch thick then dissipates to a top.

Aroma is pleasant, nice yeast notes such as banana and clove, light breadiness and wheat.

Taste is fairly thin, dry, wheat and bread are noticeable, yeast flavors are less so than the aroma, bitterness is a touch higher than some hefes.

Mouthfeel is dry, but not overcarbonated, high fermentation seems to have dried out the presence in the mouth.

Overall, a solid brew, but a little dry and less bready than some hefes.

On draft, pours a bright, almost clear with a little haze, yellow.

The smell is earthy, wheat, hay, belgian yeast and dough. Faint citrus, a little fruit and grass. The flavor is banana, yeast, a little clove, herbal and hoppy balance. Not getting much bubblegum flavor as I get usually with Hefeweizens. The mouthfeel is fine and balanced.

Overall, this is good, fine, but not great. Tough to stand out in this style.

22oz bottle poured into a chalice.

A: Sunny golden color with a good amount of haze. Fine-bubbled white head retains at a half inch. Small clumps of lacing.

S: Strong bready and wheaty base. Plenty of doughy yeast. Slightly chalky. Mild incense sort of smell. The yeast I character is more neutral than I thought it would be. Grassy hops. Vague hints of light stone fruits.

T: Wheaty and a bit tangy and lemony up front. Chalky yeast. Vague fruitiness. Soft peppery touch. Spicy and herbal hop flavors build toward the back but never get too bold. Trailing herbal hop flavors.

M: Light bodied. Crispness of the carbonation bites right through the frothy texture.

O: A safe and perhaps underachieving beer. It's perfectly inoffensive and crushable, but for all it was billed to be it lacks character

22 ounce bottle - $4.99 at Total Wine & More in Kennesaw, Georgia.

Appearance: Lightly clouded with a light hue of burnished gold. Smallish, white a head, a little fizzy. A few streams of active carbonation.

Smell: Subtly wheaty aroma, some grain, yeasty dough. Light clove bud, lemon peel, banana.

Taste: A taste of wheat with a doughy backdrop to it and a small, soft sugary element. The juice of one lemon with a little snap of acidity. Transient hints of clove, 'nana, and plain gum. Modestly hopped, a little herb and a low bitterness. Minor alcohol component. Wheaty and a bit spicy on the nicely drying, fairly effervescent finish.

Mouthfeel: Medium-light body. Medium-plus carbonation. A small appreciable amount of heft from the malts, but doesn't approach the creamiest of the style.

Overall: A little less than traditional with the use of Belgian yeast, though, the beer really doesn't stray far at all and is enjoyable none-the-less.
