12 oz bottle with "Enjoy By 9/11/04" on the label.
Pours dark and almost opaque. Not as much head as I expect for a wheat beer. Aroma is all caramel, without much (or any?) banana or clove ester. Full, rich mouthfeel and candy sweetness back up the "bock" part of "weizenbock"; a bit of tartness in the flavor and finish testify to the "weizen". Very sweet overall with almost no hop presence; almost like a doppelbock. But that hint of tartness cuts the richness a bit, making it much more drinkable than a typical doppelbock.
I usually like a bit of clove and banana in my weizenbocks. But this is so drinkable that I can forgive the lack. Smooth, sweet, and very flavorful. A delightful beer.
