Pours a ridiculous, enormous frothy beige head with long retention and sagging lacing. Brew is a hazy, translucent nut brown.

Huge banana aroma you can smell from several feet away. Yeast dominates, but there's a grainy, rustic aspect to the aroma, as well. The bottle suggests an apple aroma; with that in mind, there's a bit of that, but I don't know that I would have noticed it on my own.

Flavor is smooth and sweet: powdery grains and wheat; cream; nutmeg and clove; cola; sugary yeast; caramel and toffee; smooth banana notes. Nothing stands out on its own; it's an overall sweet, syrupy experience that is well blended together.

Silky smooth, almost syrupy feel. Extremely smooth and drinkable. Sticky finish. No hint of the high ABV.

This is an impressively balanced Weizenbock. It errs on the sweet side, but it goes down easily and makes for a fantastic Fall beer.

Enjoy by: 8/19/15.

Pours a murky honey orange-brown with a foamy tan head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Small streaks of lace slowly drip into the remaining beer on the drink down. Smell is of wheat, bread, caramel, banana, earth, and spice aromas. Taste is much the same with caramel, banana, and spice flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of spice bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp and medium bodied mouthfeel. Overall, this is a good beer with a nice balance between the banana and spice aromas and flavors.

Serving type: bottle.

APPEARANCE: Deep copper with a red tint and a big, foamy head on top. The head is gorgeous, it’s about two fingers thick upon first pour and then very slowly falls. Eventually it settles into coaster-thick cap.

SMELL: Huge banana aroma with some earthy and spicy notes as well. The smell is fairly intense as well, a good thing.

TASTE: That banana is still here in the flavor, but it takes more of a banana bread-like form. Some sweet and dark fruit flavors surround the banana bread. A touch of nuttiness rounds this one out.

MOUTHFEEL: This is a really great beer, but the mouthfeel is where it sets itself apart. This is where I miss the old BA rating system, cause I want to point out that this beer is a 5 in the mouthfeel category. Medium to slightly big bodied with a nice, sweet start and a pleasant drying finish. The sparkle is subtle, but still present, tickling the palate just enough.

OVERALL: This is an excellent example of Victory playing to it’s strengths; excellent German-style beer with a bit of an American twist. And OK, I stand corrected, looks like the attribute rating system is back! Thanks BA!

A warm caramel with three fingers worth of khaki head. Large amount of caramel malt in the smell with raisins, cherries, and banana fruity sweetness. Getting some rum notes in the smell as well. Taste is similar to the smell, caramel and toffee with banana and cherries. Medium body, moderate carbonation. Overall a really nice representation of the style, very enjoyable.

Among the most complex tastes in the beer world, German-style weizenbocks seem to captivate the palate with a new set of flavors, balances and textures with each and every sip. Victory demonstrates this abundance of tastes in all its malt-forward, fruity and spicy glory.

Somewhat murky in its pour, its rust-stained hues are garnet and mauve. Its rich froth is rocky and meringue-like before faltering halfway down the glass. With bubbles popping, the nose fills with candied malt, spice cake, red wine, earthy fruit and pepper. Its sweeter taste is bready, sweet and decadently rich.

As the fruit and dense malt mingle upon the palate, the culmination comes to a head as fruitcake with notions of dried apple, banana, red grape, fig, raisin, plum and prune. With new flavors pronouncing with each sip, a follow up of clove, fresh-cracked peppercorn, vanilla, mint and wine acidity balances the malt and fruit with nearly even-keel precision.

Rising alcohols frame the finish, giving a spiced rum character to the already variant beer. Warm, tangy and peppery- the waining moments are alive with a sultry savory taste that linger deep in finish; making this ale a slow and patient session rather than a refreshing or drinkable option.
