Poured from the bottle into a Spiegelau IPA glass.

Deep classic bronze colored body. A good but not overly amount of rising carbonation from the bottom, extremely fine through a crystal clear body. Head is bleach bright white, but with a very tight and thick incredible creamy looking body. Big three finger soap retention, with a dolloped whipped cream top. A big aggressive IPA, a winner.

What a fascinating hop angle. Incredilby woody and spicy herbality notes on this brew. Spruce and Christmas tree, even smokey. Subdued malt sweetness, but the hop angle is just fascinating, dry, burnt, smoked wood, airy… wonderful.

Palate hits with all the aroma and a bigger love. Nice Juice angle hinting of some big citrus like fruit and juice. Woody notes finish with a nice controlled bitterness that feels like sandal or balsam like wood character. Crisp finish, a big coating palate but with a much lighter body than anticipated. Flavors still come creeping through nicely on the palate.

A great well rounded classic Sierra IPA brew, showcasing this hop real nicely. Very enjoyable.

Appearance: Cloudy amber orange. 1 finger foamy off white head
Aroma: Banana, malt, some scattered red fruits. You can definitely pick up the wheat.
Taste: Great smooth flavor. Notes of cloves, honey, wheat, toast, brown sugar.
Mouthfeel: Foamy and expansive. The texture really compliments the taste.
Overall an enjoyable experience. Very drinkable for 8.7 ABV!

Draft pour into snifter, Coopers, Scranton.

After drinking Aventinus for many years, this had humongous shoes to fill and didn't get it done.
Body was a bit thin, and the complexity was lacking. Wheat with a bit of plum and cherry, the drinkability was good and the alcohol
well hidden. Would definitely drink again, but won't seek out...
