12 oz bottle was poured into a normal house glass.

Appearance: A two finger off white head was poured that reduced to a puffy layer. It is a hazy amber brown with decent clarity and vision of tiny bubbles coming up through the glass.

Smell: Bananas, cloves, spices, caramel, toffee, caramel, doughy, and chocolate.

Taste: So delicious. As good as it smells. Sweet doughy bread with a slight tad of bitterness. 8.7% alcohol, no way. Not even detectable.

Mouthfeel: Chewy, medium to full bodied, medium carbonation, sustainable, and delicious.

Overall: As good as the German ones. Nice alternative when the German Weizenbock are not available. Very tasty and true to style.

Enjoyed from a bottle, this very nice weizenbock pours a hazy amber with a nice THICK head
and exceptional lacing. Nose of bananas, green apples, light herbal notes, and yeasty bready
characteristics. Flavor is up front sweet wheat malts, banana and apple flavors to the back and
on the aftertaste mingling with fresh bready yeast to make this one fantastic weizenbock.
The goodly amount of carbonation keeps it lively in the mouthfeel and the alcohol warmth
rounds it out very nicely. An A plus in this fantastic brewers profile that never ceases to please.
One GOOD reason to look forward to fall.

Cheers

Poured from a 12 ounce bottle into a Chicago Bears pint glass. I could have gone for the appropriate glassware but hey the Bears were playing (and losing).

Aroma: RICH melanoidins with some wheat yeast spicy phenolics. Hints of green apple, maybe a little sulfur, and possibly banana.

Appearance: deep orange-ish amber, appropriatley cloudy with a persistent off-white head and damn nice lacing.

Flavor: WOW! As with the aroma very rich melanoidins backed by just enough hop bitterness for balance and same spicy wheat yeast phenolics. Delicious!

Mouthfeel: full bodied and luscious.

Overall: never had this beer before, have been wanting to try it, and lo and behold four-packs are on sale for $7.99 at Jenny St. Market. This is quite possibly the best weizenbock I've ever had and is certainly up there with Aventinus. Just a wonderful beer: prost!
