Poured bottle into glass. 8.7% abv

Appearance- A deep amber that has a bit of a "glow" to it. Very cloudy. This beer has an immense head on it after the pour. The head has a tannish tint to it and is slow to dissipate.

Smell- Aroma of plum, honey, and, freshly baked bread.

Taste- Candy sugar sweetness up front. A fruit-like hit of banana comes into play as well. Some mildy toasted wheat flavor is in the taste also. Ends with some dryness and a hint of pepper.

Mouthfeel- Heavy in body with a slick syrupy feel. Complexity hides the high alcohol prescence.

Overall- Nice dose of complexity in this beer. This is my first weizenbock, but the taste reminded me of a Belgian tripel in many flavor aspects. Very attractive appearance as well. Glad I was able to try this seasonal offer by Victory.

This style seems to be appropriate coming from American brewers who build amazing huge beers, because it is one of the traditional styles that is pretty over the top. Victory does a good job with the style and produces a very big beer that is definitely worth trying.

It pours partly cloudy and dirty brown with huge head that recedes to a perfect lace. The aroma is the fruity yeasty mess you expect. The taste is a dark malty complex mix that is well balanced, for the style. The aftertaste is dark and heavy - keep some antacids around.

If you are looking for a big, authentic wheat bock and these are available, give them a shot. I'll bet it would be great on tap.

Pours a ridiculous, enormous frothy beige head with long retention and sagging lacing. Brew is a hazy, translucent nut brown.

Huge banana aroma you can smell from several feet away. Yeast dominates, but there's a grainy, rustic aspect to the aroma, as well. The bottle suggests an apple aroma; with that in mind, there's a bit of that, but I don't know that I would have noticed it on my own.

Flavor is smooth and sweet: powdery grains and wheat; cream; nutmeg and clove; cola; sugary yeast; caramel and toffee; smooth banana notes. Nothing stands out on its own; it's an overall sweet, syrupy experience that is well blended together.

Silky smooth, almost syrupy feel. Extremely smooth and drinkable. Sticky finish. No hint of the high ABV.

This is an impressively balanced Weizenbock. It errs on the sweet side, but it goes down easily and makes for a fantastic Fall beer.

Enjoy by: 8/19/15.

Pours a murky honey orange-brown with a foamy tan head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Small streaks of lace slowly drip into the remaining beer on the drink down. Smell is of wheat, bread, caramel, banana, earth, and spice aromas. Taste is much the same with caramel, banana, and spice flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of spice bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp and medium bodied mouthfeel. Overall, this is a good beer with a nice balance between the banana and spice aromas and flavors.

Serving type: bottle.
