St. Victorious pours with a dark golden color, with little head. The smell is of roasted malts and bread. The taste follows suit, with a slightly sweet, malty flavor. Maybe a little tartness folowing the sweetness. This beer has a pleasantly heavy, bready feel. There's a nice warming feeling as it goes down, no doubt the alcohol. I really like this seasonal from Victory. Good stuff.

A: a little on the dark side, I think; seems clear although it's so dark, I can't really see through it. Large amount of head in the pour that sustains and laces
S: I can distinguish a smokiness above another less distinguishable smell, reminds me of house when I am brewing. Light plum perhaps lying underneath.
T/M: this one is a little sweeter than I expected. It is a doppelbock and should have that sweeter front, but this one seems a little much. Getting past that, I get the roasted malt characteristics that might have led to the smokey notes. The taste is leather/tobacco under the malty beginning. The beer has a big body, and is smooth while being well carbonated.
O: as I read the style description, this one fits on that dark end, tending towards stout. There isn't much bitterness in the flavor, but the beer does balance out better in the end.

A-Pours dark brown with a thin, tan head.
S-Fruity yeasty aroma with a brown breadiness and some caramel. Light grassy hoppiness.
T-Dark bread and fruitcake with caramel. Toffee and some apples. Light bitterness from the hops but no specific flavor.
M-Medium bodied. Softer bubbles. Alcohol hidden well. A bit creamy.
O-I've wanted to try this beer for some time. It turned out to be a tasty beer. This is one I would like to reexamine at some point.

Imagine a cross between shiner and guiness and you get this amazing beer
Color is a deep brown with a slightly earthy sweet smell. The taste is a sweet raisin and toasted malt rich flavor, with traces of citrus behind the two main flavors and a nice heavy but smooth finish
Serving type: growler
