Pours a rich ruby brown color with a medium size creamy beige head. The aroma is very malty with some dark fruits. The taste is very malty with hints of toasted malts and sweet hints of raisons and plums peeking through.
Drinks smooth and creamy, clean with some lingering alcohol in the finish.
Tastes very good... and potent.

Picked up a 6 pack at the brewery.
A: Deep copper with a 1 finger khaki head. After the suds were gone it looked like a glass of bourbon straight up.
S: Nice bready aroma. Picking up on raw dough as well as warm bread, with caramel, molasses, and Grand Marnier.
T: . It was a thick slice of raisin bread toasted over a camp fire topped with orange butter. This definitely had a boozy quality to it showcasing the sweet malts. I can see why the Doppelbock is known as liquid bread.
M: It had a nice weight to it. Did I mention liquid bread. Creamy and chewy. Carbonation was on the low side.
O: I think Victory did the Monks proud!
