Appearance – This hefe poured a thick orange in color with a modest head that dissipated rather quickly.

Smell – The light yeast aroma is mixed with some strong orange and banana. There are some powdery spices here as well in the background, but it’s the fruits that dominate.

Taste – Yes, this is a fruit bomb. The orange comes first followed closely by banana with some light yeast bringing up the rear.

Mouthfeel – This Hefe Weizen is in between light and medium-bodied with some tangy carbonation.

Drinkability – This went down well enough.

A nice surprise in this one. Got home from a wedding reception and wanted another beer. A friend of mine had brought this one back from Philly for me. Reminded me more of a witbier than a weissbier. Nice citrus notes but also had some floral notes as the beer warmed a bit - some rose-like aromas. Very pleasant. Poured with a nice wihte head with nice even lacing and high carbonation. Yellow color on this nice sweet summer beer. I really enjoyed it. Another good offering from the brewers at Victory.

Poured into a weizen glass, this beer was a hazy yellow color with a thick white sticky head. Really nice carbonation. The beer had a grainy, lemon aroma. Mostly a lemon taste, a little bit of biscuit. This was a light and crisp beer, very refreshing. A great summer beer.

Cloudy yellow, with a thin yet persistent white head.

Starts out with a lemony, wheat-y nose. Dry, lemony, spicy (clovey) flavor, with a slightly bitter finish. Let it warm for just a few minutes, and the cloves and bananas emerge, but the lemony presence remains there throughout. On an absolute basis, it's not quite the beer that, say, Franziskaner is. On the right day (80+ degrees, sunny, sitting by the pool) though I'd rather have this brew - the citric tang combined with the hefeweiss flavors make it the nigh-on perfect summer brew. These guys do SUCH a brilliant job.

12 oz bottle pours a hazy, pale yellow body with an enormous, dense, vanilla hued head. Excellent retention and plenty of sticky, patch lace. Aroma is lemon and clove, with a banana and wheat grain background. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with moderately high carbonation. Taste is bready and wheaty, with lemon and clove accents. Banana notes emerge midway through. Light notes of white pepper and coriander make things interesting. Well constructed, and highly drinkable on a warm and sunny late summer day. Not exactly to style, but a very enjoyable sipper.

Appearance: high carbonation, 1/2 inch head, bright yellow in color, cloudy

Smell: lemon, Belgian spices, and banana

Taste: lemon, Belgian spices, and banana

Mouthfeel: sweet with a crisp aftertaste, very high carbonation and light bodied

Overall: A very good, refreshing, and clean hefeweizen. One of the better Victory beers I have had and one of the better hefes I have had in a while. I could do a six.

Poured into a large bowled wheat glass from a 12oz. long necked brown bottle with a crimped on cap.
Hazy.pale yellow color with a tall.frothy white head that krackels away. Very good retention with nice lacing and chunky islands of froth.Lively looking with tiny bubbles tight knitted together racing from the sides of the glass.

Clean aroma, fresh bananna with a good clovey presence and a hint of citrus. Nice, pleasing aroma.

Strong clove tastes with a nice spicy tangyness and hints of bannana. Finishes with a dry spicyness and a citrus peel tang.

Light, slighty grainy texture.astringent with a nice tangy juicyness.
Very refreshing and enjoyable wheat beer. A good solid wheat, not overwhelming, would be a good starter wheat beer, could drink quite a few of these on a summer day.

A: A cloudy blonde, rich 2" head with decent retention in the 20 oz.

S: Rich citrus and banana esters, slightly sharp on the nose. Belgian yeast can be smelled as soon as it's set down in front of you, still a few feet from your nose.

T: Strong banana flavor, light and citrusy, toasty and biscuty hints roll over the tongue. A slight alcohol can be tasted as the carbonation pops in your mouth.

M: Smooth and creamy in that unfiltered hefe sort of way. Carbonation bubbles on the tongue. Very crisp and refreshing.

D: It brought me back to the Hefes and Wits I was drinking just a few months back in the summer. Wonderfully crisp and refreshing, just like a brew of the style should be.

Well yes I can't lie I have an ongoing relationship with Victory that's clear and yes I'm not one of those craft brewing lover's who hate wheat beers. In this case I found a great representation of the American brewed hefeweizen quite the rare creation if you ask me. It appears a clouded golden hue that is reminiscient of one of the most promising hefeweizens with a large cloudy white head that leaves behind thick bands of lacing. Aroma contains thick billowing layers of banana and vanilla that could go on all day in my nostrils with a sharp wheat citrus toned quality about it, let's just say it's damn good. Taste consists of soft marshmellow, banana, and vanilla phenols strongly brought on by yeast characteristics along with more sharp wheat characteristics and citrus notes. Mouthfeel has an effervescent highly carbonated champagne mouthfeel very much like the best of the best German brewed hefeweizens I love it. Drinkability is over and over again one of my favorite domestic versions of this style bring more on thanks Bill C. and Ron B. good guys believe me I know.

Thanks again to Centennial for the growler as part of the Locals BIF. This is probably my third glass or so out of it, and it still pops with an aggressive hiss. Love the art on the glass as well.

Pours a golden yellow with a slight haze. Plenty of carbonation bubbles slowly making their way to the top, where sits a frothy white head. Not quite as cloudy as I anticipated, but I also don't see a whole lot of sediment floating around either.

Smells of banana and spice with a touch of wheat, although a bit restrained. Not as a robust as a Bavarian Hefe, but still a pleasant and pleasing aroma.

Taste matches the nose well. Traditional Hefe flavors, though a bit conservative: banana, lemon zest, clove and substantial wheat. Still a very refreshing summer brew.

Slightly creamy texture, matched by an appropriate medium body. Probably this beers best quality. Again, an astounding summer beer.

Overall, not the best Hefe I've ever had, but definitely enjoyable. Always love to try new brews from Victory. Cheers!

Had this courtesy of daryk77 - much obliged!

Pours a cloudy lemon-yellow color with a huge two-finger white head that slowly dissipates into a thin pancake on top, leaving light lacing.

Smells of banana mostly, but with a solid backbone of grassy wheat and lemon zest. Floral hops also make their way out every now and then.

Tastes similar to how it smells. The banana flavors aren't as large in the flavor profile, instead giving equal weight to the lemon zest, with hints of grassiness in the background. Ending has just the tiniest amount of bitterness.

Mouthfeel is good. It's got a good thickness with soft carbonation that makes it go down smoothly.

Drinkability is very good. I downed one of these fast, and when the weather gets hotter I could see myself having a whole lot more than one.

Overall this is another above average beer from Victory. The amount of flavor present and how well they mesh just barely keep this from being a great beer. Still, it's very good and worth a shot.

Served from a 68 oz German growler from the Victory brewpub. The beer poured a cloudy, yellow straw color with a nice thick white head. Nice carbonation. The aroma of this beer is pretty well dominated by the wheat smells and is complimented well by some citrus notes. The taste is more of the same with some very pleasant wheat taste for the summer and citrus which balances this out well and makes is very refreshing and light.

pours a cloudy light orange/yellow with a massive white head that melts slowly to a sticky white lacing.
Aroma is faintly clove, banana, biscuits, and white pepper. Maybe a hint of apple.
Taste is wonderfully light and refreshing....smooth apple, banana, cloves....soft wheat with a sharp pepper bite on the swallow.
Mouthfeel is full...especially for this style.
VERY drinkable....drying afterwards making you want another and another and another.
Thanks, Ev.

Pours a slightly cloudy pale yellow with a significant head of foam. Continues to bubble throughout drinking.
Fairly spicy aroma, with cloves and wheat coming through most. A lemony zip comes through in the flavor, along with the cloves, and some banana in the back of the mouth. A bit yeasty going along with the wheat.
Nice refresher for a hot day.

*review from notes on 7/9/10*

Best before date: May 14 2011

Pours a hazy, golden straw color with a big foamy had that fades quickly leaving behind some light lacing. Lemon scents are the first thing that hits my nose, along with some clove and banana notes. Everything in the nose is detected in the taste (more clove and citrus than banana), but magnified - also get some nice bready / yeast flavors in the finish. Really flavorful American Hefe. Light bodied, moderate carbonation, extremely refreshing and drinkable.

Pours a cloudy light yellow gold with a medium/small white head. The smell has banana and cloves, not bad but alittle light. The taste is crisp with clove, bisquits, banana, and wheat. Not bad. The m/f is light with all the flavors mixing well. A nice crisp summer beer, but I was expecting more from Victory. Still, a beer not to be missed.

Very large initial head off the our Cloudy light orange. Honeyish citrus aroma. Well carbonated moderately sour wheat with citrus notes and orange aftertaste. Medium mouthfeel. Easy drink. Initially creamy mouthfeel, not as creamy as others I have had of the style. A nice one.

Pours a cloudy yellow-gold body beneath a full head of rocky bright-white foam that holds well and leaves short splashes of lace about the glass. The nose is peppery, clovey, lemonish, phenolic with bubblegum, and just slightly banana-ish. It's light bodied and zesty before becoming airy on the tongue. The flavor delivers sweet and delicately tangy wheat-based malt that's accented with notes of lemon, clove, and black pepper. It finishes dry with some more lingering clove and pepper. Very nicely done! A refined, highly drinkable, and refreshing weizen that still offers a full flavor and complexity.
