Bottle fresh from the Brewery, no dating though.
Poured out a warm amber, almost tinging a bit towards ruby, nice coloring. Good amount of light caramel/khaki head reduced down to a swirling dust. I could catch the aroma from the pint glass on the counter as soon as I poured it -not overpowering, just good stuff. Dark cherries and maltiness. Just enough carbination to give it a good feel without being overpronounced or flat, just under medium bodied, not really light-bodied. Very nice dark, malty flavors, good and mild -but not bland at all. This is just very well balanced. Good amount of toastyness left in your mouth after each sip, and a bit of caramelly sweetness- just a touch.
Damn good session beer. I have never been a lager fan at all. Despise those parties you get stuck at where there is a choice of cans or lager only -that is why I started toting my own! But I really have been enjoying the dark lagers, and this one goes down very easy. Been kicking these back as drinkers and with meals, too bad it is limited edition.
