Pours a deep clear amber/copper color with a nice white head that retains very well and leaves good lacing.
Nose is mostly marzen malt profile, although a little less on in age as usual, and some small hop aromas.
Hmmm. A pretty accurate to style marzen, but it is slightly different than your average german macro marzen. A little bit heavier, with some more dunkel lager like malt notes, although still very much a marzen. The finish is slightly crisp, but not really dry or anything.
Mouthfeel is ideal for carbonation, but a touch too viscous, IMO.
Drinkability is solid. Could easily session this at an okto festival.
Overall a nice marzen, particularly for one made in america. A good choice for the marzen fan during the fall. Good brew.
