Clear dark copper body with a 1" light tan head that reduced quickly to half a skim layer of bubbles and half slick surface. More head retention would be nice.
Strong, clean dark toasted aromas of malt. Clean hopping, a bit of earthy hops work in nicely.
Earthy, toasted malts dominate again. A touch of grain husk. Dinner rolls as well. Earthy, slightly herbal hopping. Pretty good, but not a style I have had much of in the past.
Medium bodied, mediumish carbonation. I think a bit more would make it a touch more crisp.
Drinkability is good though. Good malty flavor. A solid beer that will go down easily, especially this weekend while camping out.
