Victory Festbier has a medium, cream-colored head, a bright, yet hazy, orange/amber appearance, some bubble streams and some lacing left behind. The aroma is of sweet, syrupy bread crust, medium-roasted malt, and a slight hop zing. Taste is of all of those elements, and there is even a bit of sourness, here. Mouthfeel is medium, and Victory Festbier finishes crisp, refreshing, and absolutely and completely drinkable. Overall, this is really very delicious!

12 oz bottle best by 1/6/14 poured into a pint glass
A: Hazy burnt-orange color with a one-finger head that quickly settles
S: Lots of malt, a bit of caramel, bread aromas
T: Matches the nose. A bit sweet, just the slightest kiss of hops but mostly leavened whole-grain dough
M: Medium-bodied with an unexpected tickle of carbonation
O: A bit sweet for my tastes, pleasant overall

Poured into tulip; glowing amber-orange with a moderate white head that foams up and then descends quickly into a ring of bubbles with some patches of single-bubble-thick foam floating around.
Smell is soft bready malt, with a crisp twang of hops at the end.
Taste follows the nose, bready toasted malt with a crisp finish of earthy/bitter hops at the end. Aftertaste is semi-dry, with a crisp pinch of planty hop bitterness melding with breadiness.
Mouthfeel is medium-light, crisp and well-carbonated.
Overall, a tasty and simple beer. I could definitely drink a few of these.

A - Clear dark orange, half a finger of fizzy white head, no lacing.
S - Sweet malt, some grains, a touch of floral quality, some caramel.
T - Balanced sweetness, dried flowers, grain, caramel, bread, light herbal touch.
M - Smooth, and moderately clean, a bit dry on finish.
O - Good marzen style of beer, Victory is usually reliable when it comes to their styles.

Pours dark amber to light brown and clear, some sustaining head at edges. Smell there isn't much, mildly sweet, little nutty, reminds me a little of the candy burnt peanuts.

The taste is similar to the smell, some nutty sweetness before the lager bitterness grabs hold to turn the taste a little fruity, a hint of preachiness. The taste end very crisply, like a nice lager should.

A nice beer, but I think it lacks a little bitterness bite near the end like I expect in an Oktoberfest. Would be a decent choice for a fall session beer, for sure, however.

12 oz. bottle, with no apparent bottled on date present. Another new beer to me from Victory Brewing Co., acquired as part of a mixed six pack at the local beer store. Expectations are about moderate, given the style and the brewery.

Poured into a clear balloon snifter glass.

A - Pours about one finger of thin soapy off-white head that dissipates rather quickly. Body color is a beautiful burnt copper with stunning clarity. Very nice.

S - Smell is pretty light, but nice. Subdued nutty roasted malt character, toasted grains, and some brown bread.

T - Taste follows the nose: nutty malt, toasted grain, hint of corn, wet paperboard, and some metallic well water presence. Maltiness belongs to the Munich malts, I think.

M - Feel is clean, smooth, and malty with a somewhat metallic well watery finish. Medium bodied with good carbonation.

Overall, a solid, if slightly above average representation of the style by Victory. Crisp and light with a rewarding, moderate 5.60% abv. Definitely makes for a nice fall / winter warmer. Recommended.

Victory Festbier ---4/5.
