12 oz. bottle, with no apparent bottled on date present. Another new beer to me from Victory Brewing Co., acquired as part of a mixed six pack at the local beer store. Expectations are about moderate, given the style and the brewery.

Poured into a clear balloon snifter glass.

A - Pours about one finger of thin soapy off-white head that dissipates rather quickly. Body color is a beautiful burnt copper with stunning clarity. Very nice.

S - Smell is pretty light, but nice. Subdued nutty roasted malt character, toasted grains, and some brown bread.

T - Taste follows the nose: nutty malt, toasted grain, hint of corn, wet paperboard, and some metallic well water presence. Maltiness belongs to the Munich malts, I think.

M - Feel is clean, smooth, and malty with a somewhat metallic well watery finish. Medium bodied with good carbonation.

Overall, a solid, if slightly above average representation of the style by Victory. Crisp and light with a rewarding, moderate 5.60% abv. Definitely makes for a nice fall / winter warmer. Recommended.

Victory Festbier ---4/5.

A- Tanned amber. Quite clear with a two finger almost white head. Retention is so-so.
S- Pretty simple aromas. There is doughy bread, with some herbal hop characteristics also. A bit of toffee to it.
T- Really nice flavors to it. Toffee, some doughy bread to it. Caramel. Just when I'm starting to this that the sweetness is a bit overwhelming, some herbal hops kick in and round it out a bit. Hints of toffee.
M- Medium body. Carbonation is just a bit below where I think it should be.
O- A good octoberfest beer. Worth having.

Perfect clear amber color with very little cream colored head. Aroma is of very sweet caramel, and not too much else. Taste is definitely of caramel, and a good biscuityness to it as well. Lighter carbonation than I would expect, but not terrible. Good body too.
