Fully juicy in its citrus character with the pleasantly sharp, biting edges of tart fruit and bitterness, Hop Ranch Imperial India Pale Ale traces its roots to Victory’s Ranch series, a unique and comprehensive study of hops in which Brewmasters experimented with different hop varieties to showcase a range of flavor profiles and celebrate the nuances and distinctions in the resulting series’ recipes.

A: pours a light yellow comparable to a pils. strong lacing and visible sediments in unfiltered. 50% transparency.
s: a very strong tropical fruit on the nose. Pineapple, pepper greens, mango, and a little dank smell.
T: pineapple, orange, pepper, lime, coriander, musty and wheat profile. Some battering hops but not the pine/grass profile common.
M: medium-heavy with some lingering on the tongue similar to a lighter wheat with a unique crispness. Drinkable but a little heavy for my preference.
O: a unique and tropical DIPA that is worth a pack to try. Victory has added another quality IPA to their library

Yellowish in color, lots of tiny bubbles, clear as a bell, one finger of soapy head, solid lacing.

Aroma is juicy, hop forward and enticing. Grapefruit, lemon zest and pine.

Taste is sharply acidic at first, a solid hit of lemony tartness before it mellows during the swallow. I feel this one in the chest slightly with this level of acidity, but it has nice flavor.

Mouthfeel is medium, carbonation is pretty brisk, bordering on aggressive. Decent lingering bitterness also.

The mosaic hops are a treat and this has a nice bite to it. Hop Ranch may be too acidic for some, but it is certainly worth checking out, this is a great IIPA and a sign of good things to come from Victory.

12 oz. bottle poured into DFH Signature glass. Enjoy by May 19, 2014 etched into the neck of the bottle.

A - Pours an unusually pale, bright golden. I probably wouldn't be able to pick this out of a lineup of pilseners. About a finger of snow white, soapy head shows good retention. Lacing clings to the glass.

S - The aroma immediately removes any appearance induced doubt that this is a big time IPA. HUGE bouquet of dank tropical fruits and tangy citrus. Fresh lemony hops and sweet nectar malts round out this amazing smelling brew.

T - Picks up where the nose left off. Juicy mango and tart grapefruit are prominent from the start. Sweet, sugary, malts take a backseat to the citrus hop assault. Crisp and clean finish. I am amazed at all the tropical fruit and citrus flavor packed into this brew.

M - Tingly carbonation. The finish is clean. Drinkability is exceptional. Dangerous.

O - Quite simply, this is among the best IPAs I have ever had. I am a sucker for big tropical and citrus hops and this has them in droves. You would be hard pressed to find a more drinkable 9% beer. If this were brewed year round, it would probably hold a monopoly on my fridge space.

Nice clear body with a white head and a little carbonation visible in the body. Pretty fast moving head but a lace that stuck on the glass stubbornly.

Herbal spicy resin hops in the aroma, a little kale, citrusy, and fruity like mangoes.
Taste not as bitter as I had expected. Very clean and refreshing malt and hop balance with a little citrus flavor and grassy herbal notes throughout.
Very crisp feel and very drinkable, alcohol content not that noticeable.
Would definitely get again, this was great.

A: straw golden - the color of a typical tripel. Slightly hazy, 2 inch white head forms and attractive lacing is left.

S: loads of grapefruit on the nose.

T: grapefruit with definite pine undertones. Finishes off dry and fairly bitter. Abv hidden quite well this is a drinkable beer.

M: a medium bodied beer

O: this is a very good DIPA but definitely not on the elite level that I feel dirtwolf is on. Perhaps it's just my preference in taste in ipas. Anyways, definitely try it
