Notes/Commercial Description:
Fully juicy in its citrus character with the pleasantly sharp, biting edges of tart fruit and bitterness, Hop Ranch Imperial India Pale Ale traces its roots to Victory’s Ranch series, a unique and comprehensive study of hops in which Brewmasters experimented with different hop varieties to showcase a range of flavor profiles and celebrate the nuances and distinctions in the resulting series’ recipes.

"Hop Ranch" harkens back to the Victory "Ranch" Series that allowed brewers to experiment with a variety of hops; in the case of this beauty: Azaca, Germinate and Mosiac. Poured into a tulip glass by the steady hand of DC Tap House's finest server, this brew boasts a translucent copper body, with few carbonation bubbles. Ther is a substantial head of chunky froth that brings out a gummy lacing, which deteriorates as the langorous quaff is pursued. There is a pleasant nose of orange slices with subtle whiffs of bubblegum and butter; the palate is dusted with grapefruit and malty motes.

Thers is a chalky bite in the mouthfeel that proceeds to a dry finish with some citrus tanginess. Yet, there is a smoothness that belies the heavy alcohol structure.

Another winner from an American brewing icon. Great beer; thy name is Victory.
