I scored a pint of this on my last visit to Victory, on 08JUN14. Served in a stange glass.
Color was an attractive, rich, clear mahogany/chestnut. Had some carbo drifting about, and the head was creamy and off-white but thin. There was lots of lacing, though, as it really coated the glass. Aroma was restrained, with some caramel and toastyness being noted. Fairly smooth it was, with a decent, medium body.
I tasted lots of good caramel here, with light sweetness and a touch of nuttiness. The finish was dry, with some flowery hopping present to balance the malts. A solid brew; nicely done. Prosit!!

A: Clear amber with mild carbonation and a 2 inch head that sizzles down quickly.
S: Very traditional lager-like, both malt and hops present, slightly fruity if you look hard enough.
T: Leads with a hoppy taste, with a strong roasted bread malt taste afterwards.
M: Smooth on the front, high carbonation on the back that tingles on the tongue for a while.
O: Both the scent and taste are hoppier than I'd expect from a bock. Not impressed.

Took this growler home after a fun visit to Victory. Always a good experience.
The brew is a crystal clear light copper with a nice lasting head that dots the glass with lacing on the way down.
The nose isn't necessarily lackluster as much as it is nonexistent. Very light bready, malty aroma is about it.
The flavor is excellent. Malty, bready, nutty with accents of caramel. Almost no hop character to speak of, which is ok because it's a bock! Roasted malts make a restrained appearance. Just enough to give you hints of light roast coffee. Finally, a hint of lightly fruity lager yeast to top it off. Very balanced feeling for such a malt forward beer.
The mouthfeel is fantastic. Rich and perfectly smooth. Fills the mouth with only a hint of prickly carbonation.
Overall I thoroughly enjoyed this beer. Perfect for cold nights!
