Kudos to the folks at Victory for this single-hop series. This particular version seemed true to the Pilsner style, dry and effervescent, ever-so-pleasing to drink and refreshing, with a nice bite to it. Just what to expect and demand from a good Pilsner! It's not my favorite style, but the quality overcame that for me, much like the Prima Pils does.

This is a wonderfully dry, bitter and chewable Keller. Got it on draft at the original Victory location and it was by far the best beer I had there. It is brewed to style and quite frankly to perfection.

(64 oz growler procured hours ago at the Victory pub on Ben Franklin Pkwy... poured into my Human Robot tubinger mug)

L: clear gold liquid (had chill haze in glass served to me earlier), tight, dense foam holds its place... it does lace a fair amount, though my glass wasn't perfectly rinsed clean; the cap never completely vanishes

S: doughy-bready out the culo, flourishes of vinous and citrus fruit rinds and spicy-floral accents... a kind of Euro pale lager base tone with some earthy floral fragrance to enrich the grassy aromas; hints of outdoorsy sweat... near excellent potency; subtle peppery accent to the delicate toasty edge of the grain

T: surprisingly, almost an adjunct lager foundation, just with malt replacing the dry adjunct grains and extra extra dosing of noble hops to fill in the bush... this is an odd one, part Czech in its malt character, certainly German in its hopping; a stretch to call it 'rustic'? it's relatively raw in its expressions, perhaps touching upon kellerbier in its fruit/grass interplay... as it goes, an herbal bitterness does build and bite on the front of the palate... altogether solid; a workhorse

F: really just subtly silky smooth; a mist of grassy nectar, soaked and slithey with resins and yeasty slime... soft warmth builds at the back of the palate over the course, mostly spicy (in a vaguely chile way)... damn is it dry, near parching, with a microscopic percolation, ultra-fine sizzle zinging the mouth pores

O: I've had this countless times in a number of Victory locations over the past almost 20 years, never brought myself to take decent notes... along with Donnybrook and Mad King's Weiss, another perpetual draw to the Victory draft houses... may it/they never cease (2153)

Very nice Pilsner, tons of flavor with an appropriate hit of bitterness.

Review on tap at brewery 8/2019:
Clear, lightly colored beer that is like a faded yellow gold. Head lasts a short period and provides a bit of lacing.

Nose is wonderfully bready with the Pilsner malt. It’s not quite like smelling fresh bread but it’s close on this pour. Noble hops are noted, accenting the malt without interfering.

Bread aspect isn’t as big in the taste, and the malts bring a moderately sweet opening note. The Pilsner malt shows itself just about the time the noble hop grass starts to show. A hint of minerals then an earthy to grassy bitterness to close out.

Feel is light and inviting, making this a dry enjoyable beer. Having it at the source likely helps, but I had to up my initial rating over a notch. I could maybe use just a tad more dryness, but there’s a lot more to like than to complain about.

Aug 2017...on tap, pours clear gold, light darkness colors. Some white foam. Light malty nose, very much a pils. Crisp pilsy taste, very familiar, good hop backed bitter. Earthy taste. Nice.
