Poured from a growler into a pint glass. Purchased at the Victory Brewpub on 3/5/13. Victory lists this as the Braumeister Pils - Hallertau, a Keller Pils at 4.7% ABV.

Appearance: Pours a a golden yellow with a thick white head. Body is slightly hazy with decent carbonation.

Smell: Faint metallic aroma of Noble Euro hops. Slightly bready with a touch of lemon.

Taste: Crisp German pils flavor. Slight spiciness up front from the hops slides quickly into a sweet malty body. A little grassy. Very nice balance.

Mouthfeel: Plenty of body balanced against nice crisp carbonation. Dry yet refreshing with a pleasant aftertaste.

Overall: Very nice subtle pils straight from the source. Not overly hoppy nor too sweet, this beer strikes a near perfect balance.

On-tap at Dutch's

Straw-golden with just a touch of white head.

Nose had plenty of grassy/earthy characters. Some spice and a general noble hop.

Crisp and refreshing. Big pilsner malt character that was matched by a great hop profile. Just as bitter as I expected but not quite as brilliant as Prima Pils. It seemed to be missing that punch. It is possible that the malt bill came through more pronounced than the hops or possible the ratio was different.

More spice and noble character throughout and generally a tasty pils.

Draft pint at the Norse Bar.

Pale straw gold body, lasting rings of sticky white lacing. Bright clarity with some languid streams of ascending carbonation rising through the liquid. Good head retention, foam remains after a couple sips, skim breaks across the surface.

Crackery pils malt aroma, some dry grassiness of noble hops as well. Seems slightly hoppier than the average pils, but much less so than Prima Pils.

Dry with a good presence of grassy noble hop character, lightly bready with some crackery malt depth as well. Light feel with crisp carbonation, this is a nice sessionable pilsner. Maybe not in my personal top three, but it's very well made and would be a great beer to have around on tap all year round.

Pours a pale yellow with a solid head that lingers well. Lots of lacing on the glass. Smells of pilsner hops - this version more floral. Taste is consistent with the smell - floral but with a bit of piney background. Compared to the Prima option at Victory this has a little less "pop" but still good.
