This refreshing session ale delivers citrus and pine notes from unique experimental hops. Two decades strong and we taste mighty fresh. Cheers to 20 years of Victory!

-Spiegelau ipa glass. Enjoy by 06/16. Consumed 04/16.
A: Pristine clarity with a light orange colored body reveals a quick paced, mid-range amount of carbonation filling the vessel. Diary cream colored head is frothy and well lasting with thick stratified ring lacing gracing the glass on the way down.
S: Lightly sour lemon, spicy hops, lightly toasty grains with a follow up of semi-dry pine hops. Some light orange peel dryness rounds things out with a session style strength that had minimal longtivity.
T: Toasted lemon peel warmth, with a dry bitterness of pine and toasted grains. A bite of sour citrus-lemon hops come on the swallow.
M: Fairly crisp, light bodied, super smooth consistency with a slipper exit off the tongue.
O: A nice level of bitterness, won't deny that, but very linear complexity wise and weak malt wise. At times the complexity and malting seems watered down and not really exciting. Session style that lacks flavor and punch, and probably wouldn't hold my interest for its intent, as a session. With so many recent, very good ipas from this brewery, it seems a bit of a waste of fermenter space and time to try to force an issue that's interest has long past.

Pale straw yellow, crystal clear with an eggshell colored cap of soft foam that settles slowly. Inviting and bright aroma of citrus and pine. Flavor matches the nose, hint of tangerine, orange rind, pine chive notes. Subtle malt backbone of honey and biscuit, but the hops push it back down. Thin mouthfeel, a bit slick, but finishes with a carbonation tingle. Hops linger.

The 20th Anniversary Ale from Victory is decent. It poured a clear golden with white head that did not leave a lace. The scent was bland faint hints of hop and malt. The taste was evenly balanced and easy to drink. The Mouthfeel is medium in body with good carbonation. Overall it's ok.

Look: Thin pale yellow; Not much head;
Nose: Hops, pine, something tropical: Pineapple perhaps.
Taste: Very strong upfront herbal-medicinal quality (rosemary, thyme, etc) that overwhelms.
Some residual citrus at the close. Little to no malt or sweetness, much to my and the
beer's chagrin.
Feel: thin; watery
Overall: Meh...interesting in sort of a weird way, but not something I would ever revisit.
Could've been a freshness issue I suppose.
