A pint served at the brewery, turns out someone found a sixtel lying around, yeah!

A: The lager pours an unmistakeably pale clear color that resembles any one of B, M or C. The head neared 1.5 fingers of bubbly head that quickly receded away.

S: The nose is grainy, laced with a corn sweetness that nicely lays atop the beer. There is no hint of hop bitterness to be found.

T: The pale malts are just that, light and airy on the tongue. The grainy body is thin and fast to disappear. While it lingers, a corn sweetness adds a blast of flavor that one rarely finds in a craft brew. Some hoppiness abounds, but this style is not conducive to humulus lupulus so the flavor is fast to fade.

M: The beer is inoffensive on the palate, neither exciting nor hurting the tastebuds. A nice celebration of the end of Prohibition.

D: The light flavor and lower abv makes it drinkable but there isn't a much of pizzazz (as to be expected). Certainly a throwback.

Victory wanted to create a lager reminisce of the old Schmidt's of Philadelphia brewing company. I drank a lot of Schmidt's in my time so you would think I would have a clear memory but I can't say this taste the same although drinking a lot will cloud the mind. I can say it was very enjoyable.

on tap at the Victory catering truck - served in plastic cup

Brilliant golden color, crystal clear in the sunlight and topped with a thin layering of white head. Fades away into a wisp of film with little lacing.

Malty and doughy in the nose with hints of lemon peel and corn. Yup, its an adjunct - but without the steely, offensive scents the more popular varieties tend to exhibit.

Easy drinking with a mild corny backbone. Doughy with honey and a little fresh cut grass. Quaffable, especially on a 80+ degree day outside.

Lighter body, decent carbonation, cool and refreshing on the tongue with minimal dryness. Apparently this was a post-prohibition inspired lager they made with corn flakes, so the results were pretty pleasing. This certainly isn't their best lager brewed beer, but I thought they achieved the goal.
