Highly aromatic and sensual, this novel pale ale delivers a fresh hop flavor like no other brew. Its secret? Fresh hops piled into our boiling kettle just hours after their harvest. With many more of their essential oils intact, these ‘wet’ hops add glorious middle notes of juicy, fruit and tea-like bite to play off of its lightly toasted malt character deliciously.

Poured from a 12 OZ bottle into a pint glass at the World of Beer in Pooler, GA. The appearance is a clear gold color with a small white head. The aroma is full of tropical fruit and hops and spices. The taste is hop/grass and tropical fruit driven

L: Looks really inviting. Burnt orange colored, mild haze. Head is light beige, frothy, leaves a nice lace. Retention is good
S: Hops. Super fresh, nice citrus zest, herbal and floral. Malts are toasty and bready
T: Tasty. Upfront is a bitterness, its quite present but soft, not sharp. That citrus and herbal note comes after the bitterness. Malts finish, are dry and grainy.
F: Full mouthfeel, smooth. Bitterness doesn't take away from drinkability. Typical of Victory, the mouthfeel is great
O: Great harvest IPA. One of the better ones I've had

Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a Dogfish tulip

L: Medium to light golden pour. Clear with 2 fingers of white head. Nice lacing.

S: Bread and pine... some citrus and herb.

T/F: Grainy to start... giving way to a moderately bitter hop profile. Reasonably complex. Citrus notes... but also pine and a little something from the herb garden. Definite vegetable character. Good carbonation... very drinkable. Light despite the 6.5% ABV.

O: A very drinkable IPA. Not my favorite Victory IPA but a very easy drinker. Not up to the old standby 'Hopdevil'.

12oz bottle served in an Imperial Nonic glass
From notes - 11/09/15

Dark caramel-amber body with great conditioning that shows some well streaming bubbles. Hass a brass like appearance with a healthy dollop of sea foam mousse over top. Nice hang time to this one and lots of scattered sticky lace noted. Aromas of dank green hops flexing grapefruit, tangerine, and lemon zest with a bit of peach/mango. Furthers into some green berry and grassy herbals with modest pine, and a firm caramel and bread malt character. Lots of floral/grassy earthiness here. Nice complexity with displaying them wet hops up front and a nice balancing malt bill. Taste offers more grapefruit, tangerine, and lemon zest, with a sappy pine and herbal dank quality. Lots of floral grass and light tropic mango with peach. There stands a solid caramel malt and bready core without this being all that sweet. Alcohol is well masked throughout with a low level of stone-fruit esters. Finishes dry and crisp with resinous oils and some residual tealeaf astringency. Touts a lot of floral/grassy earthiness and a fair amount of piney citrus rind bitterness on the finish. Heavily balanced by the malt bill I was hoping for a bit more pop from this one and perhaps just need to find fresher. Still delivers plenty of that distinct herbal and fresh sticky pine that you wax for in a wet hopped brew. Snoogens approved!

Great smell, grassy a bit of orange aroma to me - but that is the fresh Citra hop. Had a sample last month of a very fresh keg and it was good. Got a couple bottles today to rate. Unusual to me mouthfeel on this one, very soft, fine carbonation - a little different from other IPAs, enough to really stand out from the rest. At first the sweet grassy taste hits the tongue quickly followed by a pleasing wash of the bitter hops. I feel this is a well balanced beer, one I would like to have more of.

Edit* read some other reviews, those people had a different batch / year. So, as the last couple of entries here state - this one is a winner.

12 oz bottle, enjoy by 3/7/2017.

Bright amber color with a small white head that shows great retention and sticks to the glass to provide some great lacing on the way down. Clear when held up to the light. Just a really nice looking beer.

Pleasant aroma of orange citrus and grass, courtesy of the hops. This beer isn't all about the hops though. Caramel malt sweetness becomes more apparent in the flavor, along with a subtle pepper spice. A bittersweet finish wraps things up in this all too drinkable beer.

Victory's wet-hop ale is a home run. The hops are the star of the show but there is great balance as well.
