Brown and mostly clear, almost an auburn color, very nice lasting head and good lace.
Smell is subdued but consists mostly of citrus and hops, with a touch of dark malts and chocolate.
Flavor is all hops with accents of other stuff, including dark roasted malts, heavier grades of caramel malts (giving it a slight dark fruitiness), and citrus rinds.
Carbonation is fairly low despite the big creamy head. It's a pretty strong tasting and feeling beer, not something I'd drink quickly, more of a moderate sipper.
Very tasty. A bit unusual for a black ale/black IPA but worth trying for sure.
