A: Pours a dark ruby color with a lighter tan frothy head. This beer looks really good. 4.5/5
S: There are some grassy hops up front before giving way to a sweeter maltyness. The lingering smell that u keep coming back to is one that smells like a cigar wrapper. There is also a a soapy scent in there. 2.5/5
T: There is a nice bitterness to this beer up front, that eventually gives way to a burnt malt taste - maybe this is the cigar wrapper hint that I picked up in the nose. As it warms there is a bit of alcohol flavor in there as well. 2/5
M: Medium bodied with minimal hop resin left behind. 3.5/5
D: This beer has two things I don't enjoy in it; a burnt flavoring, and an alcohol taste. This is not one that I would pick up again. With a name like Yakima Twilight, I had hope for a bit more hops. 1/5
---Consumed 12/10/10 - Renamed Yakima Glory. I'm glad I tried this again, I must have had a bad bottle last year.---
A: Pours a very dark brown the slightest hint of ruby. The head is tan and frothy, but thins out after about a minute.
S: Piney and juicy fruits, pineapple. The hop aroma is backed up by some roasted malts.
T: The hops are much more subdued in the taste. The roasted malts dominate the palate. There's lots of flavor, just a bit all over the map though.
M: Medium bodied, medium to high bitterness, light to medium carbonation.
D: Maybe I don't understand this style of beer. When I'm drinking a beer, I either want it hoppy or I want it toasty and malty, not both. With that said, this beer doesn't taste bad, it's just not what I look for in beer.
