A- Pours a very dark copper/amber color with a good 2 finger head that had decent staying power. Head looks pretty frothy. Lacing is pretty sticky. Got some crazy looking designs going on in the back of my glass.
S- The first thing i get off this brew is actually sweet dark fruits. Plums and cherries. The next thing that hits me is the malts. Then on the background I get the wonderful hops. This brew smells very fresh and begs me to drink it.
T- Right off the bat I taste the dark malts. It very much starts out as a stout might but it very quickly catches you off guard with the bitter hops. It really is a perfect transition. I definitely enjoy this beer as it has some of the best aspects of my two favorite brews, the stouts and the IPAs. The nose definitely doesn't come out too much to the taste as I start getting more citrus flavors coming out as I drink it.
M- Carbonation is pretty strong. Leaves a bite on my tongue going down. There is a mild warming feeling left on my palate which is nice.
D- I could have a few of these and be happy, not too heavy on the stomach but strong enough that I will be feeling good. Definitely a beer which I will be happy coming back to.
