Review from BeerAdvocate Magazine Issue #34 (Nov 2009):
So its brother, Hop Wallop, has gained year-round status, and this new hop concoction has taken the winter seasonal reins within Victory's portfolio.
Dark chestnut color, decent crowning of lace. Quick hit of roasted malt in the nose, mostly all hops after that with suggestions of tobacco, grapefruit rind and peppermint. Fresh, peppy hop character, the bitterness takes hold quick and drops layers of complex citric and herbal flavors. Flexed roasted malt tone; unsweetened chocolate comes to mind. Hops don't let go at all, so the aftertaste is packed with lingering hop resin.
A dream of a beer for all you hopheads out there. Perhaps a bit to harsh for the "faint of palate" beer drinkers--nothing we had a problem with though.
