Appearance: Deep reddish-brown, some suspended particles, good head.

Smell: Big grapefruit along with a sweet smell and some roasted aroma.

Taste: Excellent, similar to smell. Pink grapefruit sweetness and bitterness, some caramel and toffee notes, and roasted flavors in the aftertaste.

Drinkability: Probably my favorite new beer of the year.

I wasn't sure if this was a fresh hop or DIPA beer but managed to get a sample before buying. Excellent stuff, kind of right on the borderline between DIPA and barleywine, plenty of malt behind the hops. The roasted flavors are a first in my experience too. Highly recommended.

Very dark cherrywoodish blood red color with a mostly smeared glow to its body. Capped with a dense, nearly tan, mostly yellowed foam of medium stacked height. Keeps its immenseness for quite a bit to leave an ever present amount of skim and laces the glass well with an intricate sheeting and lots of holey globs.

Mega wafting hopped up aroma of fresh crisp green hops, earthy, deep, dense, dark, and weedy(both the garden variety and its brother left hemp) with a big toasted malt backing. Nice!

The flavors don't disappoint here as that aroma encapsulates what the taste delivers as its vast display of fresh green hops works its dark magic across the palate. However, I find this has alot more complexity to it. The hops are doing all sorts of wonderful things here, dark, greasy, dirty, earthy, toasty, green, fresh, herbal, and intense. All that with a crunchy toasted malt backing and some easy going dryness of late grassyness and some slight bitterings of greasy, oily pine and dark grapefruit oil. A hop monster of yummy complexity!

Body is about medium with a soild tone the whole way thru of hoppy goodness thats crisp, crunched, toasted, and bold. Hop oiled warmth breathes up thru the finish as it drys with herbal grasses and earthy dark oils dashed with a grace of toasted bitterness. It drinks down pretty damn easy too.

Victory for Victory! A wonderment of scrumptious hops and a wet dream for hopheads. Yum!

smell: big citus, smells like a strong IPA, no indication that it's a dark beer at all.

taste: very complex and complicated beer. which makes it interesting. It's drinks like an IPA on the front, citrus, grapefruit, and a dark ale on the back, bitter and roasted malt flavors.

mouthfeel: medium and light for a dark beer

drinkability: They should keep this in the line up. superb.... a new fav of mine

Yakima Twilight has to be one if not my favorite beers of all time!

Dark Ruby color is gorgeous, perfect blend of Hops isn't overkill but just right. Very smooth beer that leaves an amazing aftertaste that to me screams "Damn this is a good beer"!

Had this on tap at Theresa's in Wayne, PA and hounded the bartenders for a few weeks on where I could snatch this up on Tap for my home bar. Unsuccessful thus far as a sixtel is concerned but found a 6-pack today and didn't mind shelling pout $12 for a 6-pack!

A must for any beer fan!

Poured into a chalice this is a dark ruby red with a pillow of tan head. This faded farely quick but has left a fine lacing.

Strong pine notes a waft of vanilla caramel in the nose.

Whoa this is complex and my taste buds don't know where to start. Loads of dark caramel character, vanilla, caramel, biscuit and some chocoalte. Then there are the hops, a bit of citrus and just a nice bold piney character that warms my soul.

There is a slight warming from the alcohol but this is really an easy drinking beer. The biscuit comes out even more as I drink on and screams of more complexity. Leaves a lingering pine bitterness.

This is quite the tasty night cap and another treat from Victory!

I saved a bottle and it has held up wonderfully. The hops have faded a bit. This is still big and bold. Maybe darkened a bit with some slight caramelization and a darker color than originally reviewed. I wish I had another bottle.

Had this on tap at Scooter's in Lititz, PA. Deep scarlet in color with a bronze glow and light tan foamy head with significant lacing. Smells is of sweet caramel, roasted malt and big hops and maybe a hint of apple. Taste is a mix of chocolate, caramel and citrusy hops. Full mouth feel with moderate carbonation. Only a bit of warmth is noticeable. This a is a nicely balanced beer. I really enjoyed this.

A: Dark brown with two fingers of fine tan head.

S: Roasted coffee

T: Sweet mocha caramel flavor from the roasted malts with considerable hop presence.

M: Well carbonated

D: This is a very good black ale, with unique characteristics of both IPAs and stouts combined in a manner I have only found in this beer. It is an excellent example of what hybrid styles can be and is my favorite black IPA.

Dark red or brown in color with an off-white bubbly head that leaves a little lacing. Definitely on the darker side for an ale, but still transparent. Smells of resiny hops with a malty backbone.

My first sip did not disappoint. Packed with strong hoppy flavors balanced out by some mild malts. Hops are as prevelant as some DIPA's I've had which impresses me. The mouthfeel is pretty much dead on I think, not being to crisp or creamy, creating a very nice balance overall. The 8.7% ABV is hidden extremely well by the plethora of pleasant hop bitterness, making this dangerously drinkable.

Very good beer and pretty perfect for a spring choice. Strong, yet refreshing.

Poured into becker pint glass; dark brown with a big fluffy tan head that leaves tons of lacing as it dissipates about halfway to sit as a thick disc of foam. Smell is a nice mix of fruity and piney hops, and dark chocolate malts. Taste is absolutely delicious; the mouthfeel is perfect, creamy and full, with chocolate dark malts moving seamlessly into juicy fruity hops. It finishes sweet and bitter at the same time, and sticky. Awesome.

Served in a standard pint glass. A glass of cold water on the side to sip from periodically.

Appearance: As served the beer is dark rich reddish brown color. The 1/4” thick creamy, long-lasting, light tan head leaves layer of foam on the surface. Sipping leaves some nice foamy lacing.

Smell: The aroma seems much the same as when I had this on tap. It is complex and balanced with rich roasted malts and lots of spicy/citric hops. There are hints of grapefruit rind, some spiciness and pine, all mixed in with some dark bread, dark chocolate and traces of dark caramel

Taste: As the nose predicts there is the rich sweet dark chocolate and caramel along with a rich dark bread flavor. From the hops there’s citrus and spice with bits of pine and pepper. But overall it seems to be the hops taking the lead.

Mouthfeel: The mouth feel is definitely medium bodied and smooth and creamy from the finely bubbled moderate carbonation. The finish moderately long and generally begins while the hops are dominant and then just tapers off into dry hop bitterness.

Drinkability: At this ABV Yakima Glory a one a night beer for me , but it’s a nicely complex beer that I’ve enjoyed sipping. I won’t hesitate to treat myself to this one again. My over all impression is that this is a well made beer that works quite well as a cask offering. For me much of the difference between this one on cask and the bottled or tap versions lies basically in the mouth feel of the beer. Even though I thought the tap version to be smooth and creamy, this one tops it for creamy smoothness.

Presentation: Poured into a tulip glass from a 12oz. bottle as pictured.

A: Dark reddish amber color. Nice light tan head with light to moderate lacing.

S: Nice piney hop scent with hints of citrus and malt.

T&M: Fresh, crisp hops are upfront with a nice mildly sweet matly backbone that follows. Moderate piney hops, citrus and a nice taste that I can't identify hits the back of the tongue. It is a sweet/mildly bitter hop/malt mix. Medium bodied, slightly grainy rough feel with a very dry finish.

What a fantastic brew! This is like a smooth IPA and is very tasty. I got this in a beer of the month pack and will definitely be purchasing 6-packs in the future.

Poured from a brown 12 oz. bottle into a pilsner glass

Apperance - Dark reddish brown in color. Slight head, good lacing.

Smell - Roasted Barley, raisins, citrusy hops.

Taste - Quite hoppy but well balanced. The dark malts really make this a well rounded beer, more 3 dimesional than a typical IPA.

Mouthfeel- Slightly slick, softly carbonated

Overall - A nice blend of Hoppy and roasted grains, slightly sweet, hides the 8.7% ABV quite well.

pours with a deep amber with some ruby hightlights. A big head is present but it fades quickly to a thin small layer that is substained.
Medium carbonation.
The aroma is that of hops, floral and spiceiness
A hint of malt can be sensed, too.
The taste is very hoppy. Pine resin, spice can be sensed. Maltiness comes through at the end. Bitterness too. I taste a bit of cloying.
This beer drinks and feels very smooth with a nice mouthfeel.

A: Beautiful deep amber with shades of brown. A light brown, frothy, creamy head that leaves great lacing and retention. Head hangs around for a while. Very inviting.

S: Big aromas of fresh, resiny hops and sweet roasted malt. There's hints of delicious booze, brown sugar, molasses, and other roasted characteristics found in most Stouts and Porters.

T: Great roasted flavors hit the palate first, followed by hops, and finished with more robust, almost smoky qualities. In the middle of each sip the hops are quite juicy. They linger through the finish with the strength of the malt coming through as oak, smoke, char, and even dark chocolate. As the beer warms, the hops come through more, bringing fruity and piney flavors. But the malt always shows itself to remind you what kind of beer this is.

M: Massive amounts of flavor from the roasted malts and plenty of delicious hop oils to balance out the sweetness. Fairly bitter and dry finish but very smooth throughout. Carbonation is nearly spot on. The body is fantastic and fits the beer very well.

O: I think this truly stays to the style of ABA/Black IPA as originally intended. Most beers of this style end up being IPA's that have some roasted malt thrown in. Not this one. The hops complement the malt flavors but not overpower or take center stage, which I really enjoy. This is top quality stuff and met my high expectations as I have been waiting to drink this beer for nearly a year after just missing last years release. With the high ABV, you also feel pretty good at the end of a 12oz. bottle. Well done, Victory!

Victory Yakima Glory Ale is a highly sparkling, dark brownish red ale with a thick, creamy, light brown head that has outstanding retention and lacing It has a hoppy, roasty aroma with notes of citrus peel, caramel and coffee. It's medium bodied, smooth and creamy with a very dry finish. It tastes dry and well bittered with citrus peel and pine resin. There's a healthy dose of dark roast. The malt is sturdy and has a toffee-like quality. All of the flavors are in balance and they work well together. Great job, Victory. This beer is right up my alley.

Appearance - This is a light brown in color with some nice copper tones and a big head that comes up quick. It showed great retention and left tons of lacing on the inside of my glass.

Smell - The hop aroma is tight yet opens up nicely. I'd call them fruity but add that they show a lot of depth and aren't sweet if that makes any sense. There is some nice floral notes as well that are huge and actually form the backbone to the hop bouquet.

The malts are just as big as the hops. There's almost a winey port aroma to the malts but really they are filled with toffee galore. It's not the kind of toffee you get in a Heath bar but more like what you'd make on your stove top. I find some smaller notes of chocolate here as well but this has a nice, robust, malt structure that actually is probably the closest thing I've ever tasted to Arrogant Bastard.

Taste - The aromas meld nicely together at the taste. This is half hops and half malts and I mean split exactly down the middle. If I had to pick one I'd say the malt is just a shade stronger. It is so rich and heavy.

Mouthfeel - This is full-bodied with little bitterness and a flat yet pleasing texture that again reminds me of Arrogant Bastard.

Drinkability - This is a world-class beer that deserves the highest of accolades. It must be incredibly difficult to pull off this flavor combination but Victory did a tremendous job.

I've had this one on tap twice now at both the Big Pour in the Burgh and at Piper's Pub both excellent adventures in beerdom. Appears a deep rustic caramel amber not quite a black IPA but deep crimson red for sure, a nice thicket of head forms with khaki tan pigments cookin'. Head is dwindling nicely with speckled sporadic lacing. Aromatics offer up a minty, citrus, and piney, earthy mix of hops absolutely amazing with the dark malts. This really blends well some cocoa and dark chocolate edges with those hops and a touch of hidden alcohol come through. Flavors bring pure hoppiness about on the palate, strong lingering bitterness almost a perfume like herbal quality, strong astringent black tea, citrus mint and pine tip accented hops. Mild cocoa, and watered down astringent coffee accents actually blend nicely with an air of brown sugar added to the malt combination. Mouthfeel is slightly oily with ample carbonation medium to bigger bodied a touch of heat from the well hidden alcohol. Drinkability I love this brew, I can't help but appreciate the effort to do something more extreme from their pretty traditional lineup, I dug the first year of the Hop Wallop after that the beer's initial premise has been lost this is what Victory needed to keep us hopheads praising.
