Victory makes a variety of beers that are hoppy. They never cease to amaze me how unique each one of them is. Yakima Glory is another beer that uses fresh hops, not very surprising for Victory.

ORANGES, oranges, and oranges!... If you can tell me with a straight face that this doesn't smell like oranges than you're lying or you couldn't smell dog shit that's right under your nose. Still distinctly highly hopped.

As with a lot of Victorys, the hops are the main event in the middle, but Yakima features a subtle hint of darkness: molassas caremel, coffee, and a lot of orange within the hops. Still lots of sweet/citrusy orange notes dominate. The yeast's character and esters are incredibly smooth that is unique to Victory (I don't know if it's their proprietary strain but I damn sure haven't this yeast flavor profile from any other company). After you swallow your mouth waters. At least mine does cause this ale is damn delicious.

It finishes off dry slightly in the back of your mouth. Still notes of oranges that are less pungent but still very noticible even to the untrained palate.

This beer is world-class in my opinion and tastes amazing. Worth emptying the shelf at the bottle shop. The orange character in this beer is ridiculous from aroma to finish...incredible

If your pallet appreciates hoppiness, seek this brew out. I beleive it's seasonal .

Pours a dark copper with some ruby red highlights and looks great when held up to the light. A head of fine khaki colored bubbles tops the beer.
The aroma is floral and fruity. The hops lend grapefruit, pineapple and bright green grassy smells.
Sweet malt washes in on the first sip of this creamy beer and quickly turns into juicy red grapefruit flavors with a bittersweet finish.
This beer is extremely drinkable. It's velvety smooth but has some lively bubbles and a full body with excellent balance on the palate.
The beer is not overly bitter as the sweeter malts succeed in acting against the hops but both the dark, bready malt sweetness and the bright, fruity and floral hop flavors create a flavor greater than the sum of it's parts and the Black IPA is true harmony in a glass.
