The appearance is of a very hazy golden straw color with some light amber hues and a fluffy yet quickly dissipating white head.
The smell is strongly of apples and sugar with a semi dry nose to it. on top of all that it has the characteristic saison funk and farmhouse scent to make this an interesting beer.
The flavor is tather nice, with all of the characteristics mentioned in the scent but the taste is a bit overwhelmed by a distinct saccharin flavor and a dry bitter finish.
The Mouthfeel is rather full and bubbly with some serious carbonation and a very dry finish.
This is a moderately drinkable beer, the saccharin taste and the very foamy Mouthfeel make it a bit of a task. Otherwise it is very good.
Overall, very nice but not a great example of a saison as it seems a touch too sweet and full.

A nice refreshing beer. In a tulip glass the beer was a gold color with a faint haze. There was a thick white head. It had a pleasant citrus aroma. A peppery lemon taste, with a little bit of late hops. Crisp, thirst-quenching. A good summer beer. Try it.

Best by Feb 25, 2012, so just past that
A - Pours a slightly hazy golden brown with two fingers of off-white head. Head has great retention and leaves quite a bit of lacing behind. Nice stream of rising carbonation.
S - Aromas of bubblegum, some lemon and a mild but persistent funk. Quite floral and a bit sweet.
T - A bit of lemon is quickly supplanted by sweet malt, some earthy funk and an herbal, bitter finish. Decent spiciness and white bread presence throughout.
M - Medium mouthfeel that starts out sweet and finishes quite bitter and slightly phenolic.
O - Pretty decent saison, and a great value at $4 a bomber, but too sweet initially and too bitter on the finish to be very good.

22 oz bottle. Pours clear straw gold with a medium meringue white head that retains well and laces the glass some.
The aroma is sweet bretty malts and musty yeast with a little fruit.
The flavor is wheaty malts and light fruit with some brett and some dry mustiness in the finish. The mouthfeel is kind of light bodied with smooth carbonation.
Overall, not sure if this is made with brett (no mention), but I get some nice brett notes out of it. Nice Belgian and a great bargain at $5 a bomber.

Presentation: It was poured from a brown 12oz bottle into a tulip glass. The label has a born on date and an abv listed at 7.5%
Appearance: It has a pale golden look in the glass with fine yeast sediment floating inside the body. The body is covered by a two finger tall head that quickly settles down to a thin film cap which makes for some slick lacing on the glass.
Smell: In the nose I get a fruity and funky yeast character with some mild spicy, herbal and leafy hop notes.
Taste/Palate: On the tongue fruity yeast and bready sweetness moves across the palate and brings some mild sweet/tart apple, lemon and ginger like spice notes. This is balanced with some dry leafy hop bitterness and it finishes with a dry spicy and mild hop character. The palate is well balanced smooth and easy drinking.
Notes: Overall a nice beer with some decent layers of flavor within a nice drinkable package.

$3.99 for a bomber, nice. "Bottled on Dec 10, 2009" stamped on the front label, well done. Pours clear yellow amber, long lasting off white head, ample frothy collar and sheeting, below bits of lace. Spiced up, citric nose, more lemon/lime, add a healthy dose of pepper, herbal and fresh tasting hops..all add up to a quite pleasant, zesty and fresh tasting saison...here its a freezing night in january and I've been transported back to a hot day on the back porch in July...bring on the salads and cheese/crusty bread lunches...nice saison, for a nice price, always a plus...

Appearance: clear, gold in color, 1/2 inch head, high carbonation
Smell: hops, hay, and lemon
Taste: hops, hay, some apple, and lemon
Mouthfeel: medium/high carbonation, light bodied, a bit bitter
Drinkability: An above average saison that has a nice combo of bitterness and fruit. Far from my favorite, one bottle is most I could have in a sitting, but it is an excellent value for what you get.

Serving glass: Poured from bottle into Chalice.
Appearance: Barely hazy golden straw color with billowing white head that only leaves slight lacing behind.
Smell: Banana, peach, clove, pepper and a strong horse blanket mustiness.
Taste: Strong sweet malt backbone of fleshy fruit and lemony citrus, with a drying counterbalance of clove and black pepper. There is also an underlying mustiness that carries throughout, and becomes more apparent as it warms.
Feel: High carbonation, medium body, very dry finish.
Drinkability: Seems to be some Brett in this Saison. Whether that is true or not, it certainly adds some Orval-like complexity and makes the beer exceedingly refreshing.
Also, while I do not allow price to impact my reviews, the $3.99 a bomber price tag on this makes it a steal.

22oz bomber poured into an 8oz sampling glass.
Pours a light hazy yellow with a nice fluffy white head. Nose is very funky, bandaids, citrius and fruit.
Taste is funky. It's sweet and tart, hard to explain, it's right on for a saison but there'. A bit of that hop bitterness as well as wet horse blanket. I'd say skip this beer but I'm not a big fan of the style.

22oz bottle at about cellar temp poured into bulb style glass. bottled on dec 10 2009.
pours a hazy yellow orange color. the orange really beams through the glass in certain spots. off the pour there is a big white soapy head. fades after a couple minutes to some patchy soapy foam. just a touch of lace. a little bit of yeast visible in the glass. the head looks great at first, but ceases to impress minutes after, but the color is very nice.
in the aroma, theres lots of citrus ,lemon and orange peel, as well as a sour apple aroma. flouride and bubblegum from the belgian yeast. a little bit of peppery spice. also has a little bit of a champagne like aroma. maybe even a little bit of that farmhouse aroma as it warms.
the lemon and orange peel come through big. has a little of that champagne/ farmhouse funk taste, and a hint of flouride from the yeast. has quite a bit of a hop character which isnt really expected but always welcomed. lots of citrus comes from the hops and mixes with the yeast in the finsih to create kind of a soft peppery hop flavor. a little lingering hop bittereness.
medium body. tingling carbonation which does this beer good. leaves a slightly resinous lemony hop flavor on the palate. you can not really feel the abv, does a pretty good job hiding it.
drinks very well, if you dont mind the abv. nice for the summer days or anyday of the week for that matter. 2 of these in one night would be a little much, unless your looking to get a good buzz on.
this is a very nice beer, a nice take on the style, something different. nice to have the funk as well as a defined hop character. definatly worth a shot, ill be revisiting it soon.

Got the last bomber from State Line ($4)
A- Poured a hazy strawish yellow, with a voluminous head
S- Distinctly farmy with a little bit of damp hay and old wood with a bit of citris
T- Tart and spicy with flavors of grain, acidic fruit and that generic funk
M- Surprising light and refreshing probably from the acidity, that hid its 7+% alcohol very well
D- A touch to funky for me to have more than a half a 22
