appearance; deep yellow, lots of large, visible bubbles, decent head but with little retention.

smell; smelled very muck like a pilsner, yeasty, but with an added blend of herbs.

taste; yeast, bread, sour grapes, orange peel, herbs, very unique and not unpleasant.

mouthfeel; light bodied and pretty fizzy.

overall; something worth buying for the unique blend of flavors, but you wouldnt buy it again.

22oz bottle, ~a month old. Review from notes.

Pale yellow, slightly cloudy, not much head or lace. Smell is yeast must and English hops. Taste is mostly clean yeast; buttery pepper, clove, and banana, some floral hops, sour, lemon, but with a plastic-y cardboard finish.

Good on a hot day. Reminded me of oarsman with its sour twist.

22oz bomber. Enjoy before 11/21/2014. Served in a pint glass

Appearance: Pours a bright yellow color with 2 fingers of a white soapy head that settles to a thin coating. Body is lightly hazy with some fine visible sediment and quite a bit of visible carbonation.

Smell: Lemon, orange, coriander, black pepper, pear, brett character but not particularly funky.

Taste: Sweet bready malt upfront followed by tons of yeast character. Banana, clove, pear, spices, and perhaps a hint of white grape. Not much hop character but there is a mild to medium lingering bitterness.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied and crisp. Carbonation borders on high, but not to the point of being distracting.

Overall: Pretty nice saison and a good bang for your buck.

A - Pretty golden beer with a reasonable head, fading out to some minor lacing.

S - The funk is strong with this one - which is not unexpected. But there is a certain undercurrent of rubber that I found distracting.

T - A very crisp beer, with clean, clear notes of pear and stone fruits, as well a some bread notes and peppery spice. Unfortunately, the element of rubber and bandaids remained, though backgrounded, coming more forward in the finish. It is not an uncommon note for a yeast-based brew. If the finish were cleaner, I'd have rated this much higher however.

M - Crisp, clean and extremely easy to drink.

O - This is generally a very good beer. I think the yeast let loose a few rogue elements that detract slightly, but I still found the beer both approachable and enjoyable.

Pours a hazy yellow honey color with a foamy, sticky white head on the surface. Aroma is filled with citrus, perfume-like flowers, yeast, barnyard funk, soft pale malt, and some black pepper when swirled. Dry floral flavor, yeastier than the smell, but with much less Brett. Peppery spice, clove, dried fruit, lemony citrus, wheat, and subtle malt. Dry, snappy medium body...very enjoyable and drinkable. An underappreciated, underrated bargain of a Saison from Victory.

Appearance:
Incredibly hazy body, tinted with a deep hay color. A considerable amount of carbonation can be seen. Topped by a very frothy, white head with fantastic retention and lacing. Very appealing to the eye.

Aroma:
Plenty of lemon zest and sourdough are detectable right away. Coriander, lavender, and ground pepper occasionally break through the appropriately funky aroma. Light herbal hop presence and a hint of ginger. I really like the fragrance of this ale, however, repetitive sniffing made me sneeze. A lot. Weird, right?

Taste:
Quite bitter for the style with plenty of grassy and citrus hops right up front. A surprising amount of spice. Pleasant lemon peel and a hint of pine. Not enough brett character, but it's good. Definitely gets better as it warms. Alcohol is undetectable.

Mouthfeel:
Smooth, medium-bodied brew. Plenty of bubbly. Semi-dry with a tart finish.

Overall:
This is a great example of one of my favorite styles, saison. Decent amount of sour and funk. Easy to drink - recommend serving at 40+ degrees as this truly gets better as it warms.

Golden color, bright white densely foamy head that leaves spotty lace behind. Aroma is a delightful surprise. Sweet, funky, mellow, lemon fruity, spicy, black and red pepper, clean soap, phenolic, yeasty. Unexpected brisk light citrus pine around the edges. Just right. Taste is juicy, yeasty, fruity, floral, with numerous other interesting qualities. Flavors are cherry, wood, yeast flavors of fruit, bubble gum, soap, even a touch licorice, and lemon. Also tart, and crisply dry through the finish. Very nice surprise. Victory always seems to know exactly what they're doing.
