I had this on draught in a bar. It was served in a pint glass. It pours a clear, golden straw color with a thin, milk-white head and modest lacing. The smell is rather subdued with citrus, grass, and a whiff of hops. The primary tastes are cracker and citrus with a pleasant hoppy finish. This ale is medium-bodied but light and refreshing to drink with an ABV of 5.2% Overall, while not particularly memorable, it is a nice beer to drink in a cool bar on a hot day.

Poured at 45°F from a 12oz bottle (no date) into a Mikasa Ale glass. Consumed on 19Jun16.
LOOK: Two fingers of dense, white foam is formed after pouring. The large head retains its density as it dissipates to a half fingers worth of within two minutes. A moderate amount of thick lacing is left behind from the foam dissipation. Light gold in color. Rising bubbles are small in size and become scarce once the foam head settles. Lacing is high in quantity and thick.
SMELL: This has a great, balanced smell composed of mild aromas of peaches, pears, floral hops, and earthy hops harmonizing with subtle white bread, grass, grain, orange, grapefruit, and tangerine aromas.
TASTE: A fruity and hoppy balance is immediately established as mild, peach, pear, and earthy hops flow on to the palate. Mild flavors of spicy hop and grain deliver more balance as they trail right after. More hoppy and fruity goodness is presented as mild floral hop and subtle orange, grapefruit, and tangerine flavors enter while the grainy flavors grows stronger and approach the threshold of bitter. In a finally act of achieving even more balance, mild white bread and grass flavors enter as all previous flavors press on.
FEEL: The thickness of the beer is between light-bodied and medium-bodied. Carbonation is high and nearly stings the tongue. Goes down rough due to the high carbonation. Finishes with a strong and unpleasant dryness due to the large hop profile.
NOTE: A good Blonde Ale brewed by Victory. While the taste was good, I would have like to have had less grainy flavors. I feel like that hindered the profile from being great. The major downfall in this was the mouthfeel. Summer brews should be crisp and clean. The carbonation was too much while the hop profile, although lovely for the taste, caused too much dryness.

This is really a bit hoppier than I was expecting. The hoppiness leave an odd aftertaste on the palate, making the beer less refreshing than I had hoped.

CAN
Bright gold with loose snowy froth. 4
Clean flinty grain and flowers. 3.75
Cracker + shortbread, some grass, slight lemon, and a bit of peppery bitterness. 3.75
Round, latte chew, almost medium, crisp. 4

Bigger than expected - which is on point for a blonde. Underhopped; ditto. Well put together and unexciting - to style, in other words. 3.75

On tap.

A - Bright gold pour with a dense, but thin head and lacing, moderate carbonation.

S - Earthy, grassy lemon, citrus.

T - Follows the nose with earthy, grassy, lemon, and citrus donating throughout. Ends with some crisp lemon citrus tart bitterness that lingers.

M - Medium body with creamy carbonation.

O - Crisp and refreshing, perfect for warm weather.

Tried the Summer Love at Aurelios from the can. It is another solid offering from Victory. The beer poured a clear golden with white head that left a lace. The scent had slight bitter citrus. The taste was evenly balanced and easy to drink. There was enough bitterness to make the beer interesting and was supported by citrus tones. The mouthfeel is lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall this was a very good beer heading into summer.

Completely biased review. I love everything about this beer. Takes me back to some of the best summer memories I have. Nothing amazing, nothing too fancy, just a refreshing, easy drinking beer. My go to session before i saw session as a type of beer. So pop the top on the awesome designed can, fire up your grill (charcoal of course), and enjoy your summer days off all day.

Poured from a 12oz can into tulip glass:

This beer is pretty much the definition of an average craft beer. It's got a decent, one finger head that lingers for a minute or two, it's got some nice light hop aroma, with a lot more cracker and bready notes. The taste is very, very basic.....lots of dry, crackery malt, with some earthy hops as well. It's a nice alternative to a macro at a cookout or at the beach, but not something I'd seek out.

Pleasantly surprised by some of the subtleties of this beer. Body is translucent straw with a thin, fizzy head. Left some soapy lacing. Smells like corn, grass, apples, and some earthy yeast notes. Taste is sweet up front but a faint wisp of hops comes through closer to the finish. A lot of corn and grain notes like an AAL, but way more hoppy complexity. Lots of grassy and floral hops coming through, but not enough to make it overly bitter, just enough to keep it feeling light and fresh. Finishes very dry and clean. This is just a crisp, clean, refreshing ale for summertime, recommended if you like hoppy lagers/pilsners/etc.

12 oz. bottle poured into a willibecher

A- Pale straw, great clarity. Foamy white head retains at one finger. Very little lacing.

S- Straw, a mild solvent (which is off), and a little toasty. Not much hop aroma.

T- Toasty malt. Hop flavor is earthy.

M- Light body, easy drinker. Dryish earthy finish.

O- Nice light blonde ale. Aroma is a little off, but a good, drinkable summer beer.

Enjoy by 8/24/16. 12oz can poured into a pint glass. Pours a pale golden with nice clarity and transparency; chunky eggshell white head that sticks around leaving great retention and sticky lacing. The aromas are faint with lots of cracker and bread notes. It's slightly floral as well. Fresh grass is there too. The flavors are clean and refreshing. More fresh bread and cracker notes. Some pilsener malts in the mix. Hints of citrus. I'm picking up some lemon and lime zest along with some grapefruit. Slightly earthy. More grass. Alcohol obviously goes unnoticed. Mouthfeel is great. It's light with active carbonation. It's very smooth and extremely quaffable.

This is very crisp and refreshing brew. It's perfect for the summer. It might not be flashy, but it's enjoyable and well crafted.

Poured from a 12 OZ can into a pint glass. A very flavorful ale. Has a great golden yellow color with a small white head. Aroma is of yeast and some citrus for a pretty mild smell. This beer has moderate carbonation and a semi dry finish. Very satisfying.

Pint glass. Watered down piss color. Smell is unpleasant. Like mouldy wheat... Taste is not to good either. Weak and watery, wheaty and grainy.... Taste like grain put into a pot with water and left in the fridge for two weeks. The only redeming quality of this beer is how refreshing it is. I could put a few on these down on a hot day just because of how thirst quenching it is. I do not reccomend and i will not buy again.

The Victory Summer Love is average at best. I watched a YouTube video of a girl talking about how the Summer Love got her into craft beer, leading her to start a club at her college for other beer-geeks. Ironically, the Victory Hop Devil began my beer phase, and while I do respect Victory for its ability to bridge between the mass-produced and the artisanal, the Summer Love falls into the primer.

The Summer Love looks like any other summer ale or really any other beer - yellow. It smells like any light ale with a touch of hops, and it tastes like a typical summer ale. It's a lightly-hopped, pilsner/pale ale hybrid, with some small flavor and a desire to be refreshing.

Victory is a great brewery, but this beer is not worth it for any beer-geek looking for something with actual flavor and depth. Maybe it's better on tap.

Drink if you're new to craft beers and want something light yet different, or drink if you're a Victory fanboy.

A: [2.50] Pours out a pale yellow color. The beer had some head but it was gone instantly. The beer looks like dirty water a bit. Visually not the most striking beer. I can't find the ABV listed - or a date code. Bad marks all around.

S: [3.50] Pine, citrus, some wheat aromas. The smell is actually really pleasant.

T: [3.75] There is a lemony like almost a Shandy flavor to the whole thing - but not quite that pronounced. There is a decent amount of hop presence, not bitter, but it makes an appearance at the party. There are same caramel malt tones in the mid palate too.

M: [3.50] The beer is medium in body and has elevated carbonation but it adds to the "summer" beer feel.

O: [3.50] Very nice dock beer. Really nice flavors and drinkability. I would have another and share them at a picnic.

pour is a deeper gold than expected, smells of minerals and hops, taste has a strong carbonation, not overbearing but strong, length is solid malt to hops with a good finish but i cannot pinpoint the finish from a flavor standpoint, there is something there, feel is full and satisfying, overall enjoyable. a solid beer would consider some more

This was poured into a pint glass.
The appearance was a decent looking one finger-ed white foamy to bubbly looking head that dissipated nicely. Lacing, eh, well, that was kinda few and far between.
The smell, on the other hand, capped some light sweet fresh grassy tones to it. A malty variety of sweet graininess slightly ran into balance it.
The taste was mainly sweet on all accounts. Low bittering grassy hops balance.
The mouthfeel sat light on the body. Carbonation runs low and caps ya in the mouth with a wonderful sessionability about it.
Overall, well, it fits all of the characteristics of the style, what does one expect. Its just nothing over the top. Hey, its a good food beer.

Pours golden with a large fading head.
Nose shows floral, grassy, herbal and earthy hops with some soft light malt underneath hinting at honey.
Very similar flavours. The hops are more grassy rather than floral though and a biscuity malt note replaces the honey.

Not necessarily my style...but I will say, this is a great summer beer. Nice and light. Smooth and super easy to drink (almost too easy). Would have liked to see the flavor pop a little more though.....both on smell and taste.

Very solid beer. I'm not the biggest fan of this style, since it often seems like I'm just drinking a watered down IPA with zero malt, but this has enough going on to warrant drinking for me. Good balance between semi-sweet malt and flowery, citric hops. Piney hops in the aftertaste, and it finishes pretty dry. These blonde ales often tout themselves as "summer beers", but I've never really gotten that impression from them, because personally a summer beer is something refreshing and thirst quenching. This is tasty, but I wouldn't exactly characterize it as either of the attributes I just mentioned. Still worth drinking for sure, however.

I liked the lightly fruity malty aspect of this beer but the hops just didn't seem like a good match. It's more of an herbal type with a fair amount of bitterness. There was a bit of an unpleasant aftertaste.

I agree with other reviews for the summer ales I have had so far, this is the hoppiest. Not a bad thing just different. There are sooooooo many out there that everybody is trying to distinguish themselves from each other.
Good brew if u r a hop man. If u r a hop man to the 10th power then
The hop devil is for you. But for a cold summer brew. I recommend this beer.
