I have tried for a while to get my hands on this beer including at gabf. Of course they were ha ing keg problems when we went by there. Long story short got my hands on it in a trade.

Look very cloudy yellow golden color with NOhead at all. No really nothing. There is a lot of activity coming up on the glass with the carbonization
Smell light hops
Taste- hops with orange peel on the tongue with a little bitterness at the end.

Feel. Way to carbonization for me. It hurt inside My mouth. I won't finish this beer because of the feel.
Overall it lacked what I expected. Unfortantly victory has not lived up to it for me. But hey that just my take.

Pours a hazy yellow with white head that doesn't last long.

Not much on the nose. Some spice and floral hops, but all very subtle.

Taste is not overly impressive. A nice blonde ale. Light bodied with some floral hop bitterness. Finishes dry.

Doesn't linger.

Overall a nice blonde. Not my favorite style to begin with, but overall this is a solid representation.

Enjoyed this 12oz bottle out of a large snifter glass.

A: Hazy pale yellow hue with a white, frothy, 1-finger head that the leaves a great trial down the glass and dissipates quickly into a wispy lace.

S: Spicy crisp hop aroma.

T: Very crisp and slightly bitter. Create floral hoppy profile – almost like a mild ipa.

M:. Medium body and medium carbonation.

O: This brew was a pleasant surprise but I guess I shouldn’t be surprised because Victory has a good beer. This brew was light and refreshing.

12oz. bottle: This one pours a slightly hazy, straw yellow color. There was a very small white head on it that didn’t linger long. Nice aroma to this one. Floral, grassy, hint of lemon in the back ground. The taste is good. Slightly lighter body, just a faint whiff of bitterness and a slight dryness. Slight lemon flavor, with grassy a slight graininess. Very crisp and refreshing. An excellent summer choice!

Presentation: 12 oz longneck, label is full om summer icons. No date.

Appearance: clear golden, nice head and good lacing.

Smell: very grainy, light citrus and hops.

Taste: medium bodied with bready grain flavor. Citrus and hop flavors round things out.

Overall impression: very drinkable, lots of flavor without being overwhelming. Great lighter option.

A: Pale & golden, sticky lacing, a fingers worth of foam 'til the last gulp.

S: Earthy, lemon-y, grassy, and dirty.

T: Lot of lemon, spicy, dry aftertaste. Lite Prima Pils, almost. Light biscuit-y malts, but the hops were the highlight here. Wonderful.

M: Very refreshing on a hot day here. Hoppier than most American Blonde ales, though.

O: Worthy of multiple purchases, very quaffable and flat out great.

Purchased from K&L Wine Merchants in Redwood City, CA.

Pours a very pale straw colour, you could almost indeed call it blonde. Head is firm and frothy, largely consisting of large bubbles of white. Minimal lacing, but with the very light body (appropriate), that's not unexpected. Looks decent.

Nose is crisp and hoppy, with an emphasis on the crushed green end of the spectrum, much like a pilsener in this regard. Hiding in there are slight fruit characters, but again they're sharp—lemon and a bit of grapefruit, perhaps. This mingles with a very pilsener-y grain character giving a touch of citrus and some savoury basis. Nice.

Taste is smooth and clean, with a very lagery tone to it. Crisp pilsener malt, green hops and a cleansing but mild bitterness to add brightness and crispness to the palate. It's bright, refreshing and exceptionally drinkable.

Extremely refreshing. You know, if someone said that Victory has stuck a different label on their Prima Pils, and called it an Ale I'd believe it. That's no bad thing, given that that's a great beer, but it also does feel a little like this beer is unnecessary as a result.

On-tap in a tumbler.

A: A little dark for a blonde ale, this is more amber than not. Despite the darker hues, the ale is translucent. A thin white head comes along.

S: Malty, the nose is very grainy with a mild citrus in tow. The maltiness stands out, adding depth.

T: Grainy, darker biscuit flavors are the primary flavor. Citrus is a soft add-on, a flavor element but not the star of the show. Very drinkable.

M: A good way to start the day, mild with a nice malty/citrusy blast.

A light, white frothy head crowned the hazy golden brew, and a fruit smell wafted from the glass. I was impressed with the complexity of this 5.2%-ABV ale -- the lemon flavor mixed very well with the hoppy taste which yielded an extremely quaffable beer. The first sip and each subsequent taste was a delight. I love tasting the hops in a beer, and the mixture of hops and lemony-fruity-goodness in this particular libation was extremely satisfying.

On cask, via hand pump, @ the Victory Brewing Company (Downingtown, PA) on 10/9/11. Served in a pint glass.

Pours a clear pale gold, with a tight bright-white head of foam. This stays thick and foamy, drenching the sides of the glass with a rich coating of sudsy lace. The aroma smells fresh, grassy, and citric, with a dash of light spiciness, and sweet doughy sugars that sits underneath. This is pleasant enough.

The taste is citrusy (I’m getting a lot of lemon flavor coming out here on cask); with an overall leafy feeling bitterness that drives this. Malts have a bit of a neutral sweet graininess to them underneath the hops but that citric snap has the most strength here, finishing this dry and spicy with a touch of lingering rind. The mouthfeel is lighter bodied, with a VERY mellow feeling crisp creaminess to this that prickles the tongue just enough but is overall extremely slick on the palate.

I’m always up for trying different beers on cask here at Victory, as you never know how some are going to translate, and this was no different. While it may have lost some of its crispness in translation, it definitely opened up the hop profile a bit more, with extra citrus flavors and a touch more aggressiveness shining through here. I can’t really say if I liked this more than my experiences with the draft or bottled versions of this but I’m glad that I gave it a shot, as it ended up being flavorful and easy drinking enough to keep me happy on this visit.

I had this beer in my beerfridge for quit a while now and after an oatmeal stout i wanted to try this one. This is a very surprising beer!

Poured in my Struise glass this beer looks ok, nice yellow (a bit cloudy) fluid and a nice two finger head. Little carbonation.

Smell is wonderfull. Hoppy and crisp together. Very drinkable beer with no complcations at all. Wish i had a few more of these beers in my fridge!

12oz bottle. Pours a slightly hazy yellow gold with a big rocky white head that retains well and laces the glass.

The aroma is honey, malts and a little noble hops.

The flavor is grainy malts and grassy hops in the finish. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with light smooth carbonation.

Overall, an OK subdued hoppier blonde ale. Not too exciting.

I would have called this a Kölsch, but it's an intriguing and flavorful light beer in any case. Quite hoppy for its light frame. A brambly, sharp, and somewhat acidic taste that is very refreshing. Quite perfumey flavor that carries through to the really powerful nose. Big biscuit flavor, but sharpened up by the hops rather than mellowed by malt, which is doesn't show much of. Light golden, lots of creamy carbonation, which is a plus for me in this style.

Missed this one in Philadelphia last June so was happy to see it show up in six-packs in San Diego at the Super Junior beer museum. One of my favorite lighter beers I've tried this summer.

Blondes are tough to review because there is so little to most of them, but while I think many of you might think this is harsh, there just isn't much here to set this apart.

Pours light gold... looks like a coors light...
Whispy head does not last. Taste grainey, sweet, some lemon notes and some alcohol backbone. THis may be the shortest review in history.

I have two stoudt's gold's in the fridge, thankfully...

I love Victory beers, and drinkin at the ballpark... but I'm not sure this is much better than any average adjunct lager... give me an old style at wrigley for a third the price...

Tasted several weeks ago - reviewed from notes:

Pours hazy - almost cloudy - light golden with a white head that thins and stays. A respectable amount of lacing sticks.

The smell is bready with a light herbal touch.

The taste is bready with a hint of sweetness. A bitter-ish herbal touch in the finish leaves it refreshingly dry.

It is appropriately light-bodied.

It's a decent blonde ale - I would say a bit better than average. It has a nice balance to it.

on tap at devils den in philly - served from firkin

Pours a bubbly, clear golden color with a huge, fluffy head. Slowly dissolves, leaving curtains and patches of lacing, nice retention too.

Scents of lemon peel and grassy hops. Some faint spice and straw with biscuit-like malt.

Touch of floral hops up front before a nice dosing of lemon peel. Zesty and refreshing, some grassy tones. Thinner malt backbone with some biscuit and bready tones. Finishes dry and a little bitter.

Lighter medium body, milder carbonation, creamy and smooth on the tongue. Crazy drinkable, decent flavor, and one of the better blonde ales I've had recently.

Comes out of the bottle a clear straw yellow with a typical white head - not inspiring, but never judge a book by its cover! Strong aroma is malty with a yeasty undertone and hints of citrus and hops. Sunny flavor has a malty core and a strong, slightly sour citrus note, as well as hints of hops and apple. Average-bodied texture has a nice tingle to it. Great for summer, or saying goodbye to the bloomin' hot weather.

12 oz. bottle poured into a mug.

Appearance: Pours a clear straw/light golden color. Big, fluffy white head (a couple fingers) has good retention. There's a tiny bit of visible carbonation.

Smell: Mild aroma of grasses and hops.

Taste: Light, grassy malts nicely balanced against mild hop flavors. There's a bit of lemon at the finish.

Mouthfeel: Light- to medium-bodied. A bit more substantive than I would've imagined. Just the right amount of carbonation. Somewhat crisp.

Drinkability: A very (too?) drinkable summertime ale. Moderate ABV.

Very pleasant blonde ale; not a style I'd normally get, but I really appreciate the hops here: not overly strong, but plenty to taste.

Bottle. Pale crystal clear yellow. Average white head that fades to a film retaining on top.
Aroma is grassy, floral hops. Apricot and light fruity aromas.
taste is a lot bigger and hoppier than I expected. Yum. Lemony with a hint of some German-style malts to make this kind of resemble and pilsener.
Grainy and lively carbonation. Finish is crisp and refreshing. Great hop character. This is a great summer beer. I'll have to stock up on some of this next year.

First had: on tap at Johnny Brenda's, Philly, PA

Poured into a pint glass, golden yellow with a fluffy white head that laced well. Light aroma, floral, organic and hoppy. Light taste, grassy, floral, lemon zest, refreshingly hoppy and flavorful without being strong at all. Light-bodied and drinkable.

Had on tap at the Beer Store in Southampton. This stuff looks like a pilsner, smells like cat piss, tastes like a mass produced BMC product. I had to power through this one. God is this gross. I'm not quite sure where this went wrong, or if this is just the epitome of a beer that's just "not my type'l but there's no love lost here.

(Review from notes)

Poured a 12oz bottle into a snifter glass to find a nice straw colored body that had a thick white head that dissipated quickly. The aroma was on the mild side with a bit of bread and sweet notes. The taste was good with a bit of citrus and bread notes. It was a medium bodied beer that was a bit heavy on the carbonation side. This is a great summer beer that is crisp and refreshing on a hot summer day.

medium body, heavy on the carbonated side, crisp and refreshing
Great summer beer
